• Elliot and Sophie watched the clouds approach on the screens above their heads, barreling straight at them like a blanket of fluffy white. It felt like they were falling into the sky. They punched right on through with no pause, though it managed to freak Sophie right the fuck out anyway.
• Finally, their acceleration bled off, their velocity capped out around 300km/hr. The forces on their bodies now balanced out, they were able to get up and move around. Elliot and Sophie both gasped when they sat up, watching the cloud layer vanish beneath them on the surrounding screen projections, the areas of the ground that were visible quickly losing definition. They'd flown before, but this felt totally different. There was no forward momentum, just the slight dropping sensation in their guts.
