• "What did the vampire king say about the gift that you gave him?," Queen Selene asked as they sat together on the front balcony, engrossed in their knitting. Bella paused her knitting, her mind still consumed by the events of the morning. The confrontation with the doctor had left her unsettled.
• "No, he didn't say anything," Bella replied, continuing to work on her new garment.
• "Why? The cardigan you made is beautiful. I don't understand why he wouldn't appreciate it," Queen Selene remarked.
