Chapter 7 {Crown Princess Ii}

• She inhaled and exhaled slowly trying to calm her rapidly beating heart..
• "Am I that scary?" Princess Lissa questioned with a laugh. Diana shook her head furiously, denying the claim. "No, your highness," she replied, looking up.
• Princess Lissa stared at her for a while. "Yes. Before I forget, take this," she gestured, handing her a pink rose with intricate golden details.
• Diana held out both her hands, her head still bowed, as the princess placed the pink rose on her hand. She gave a curt nod and moved back. "Give this to the guards. They know who it belongs to, so they can allow you to pass."
• "Yes, your highness," Diana acknowledged.
• "You may leave," Princess Lissa dismissed. Diana gave another bow, her head even lower. "I don't think my neck can take any more bowing," she thought with a wince as she slowly moved back.
• Princess Lissa watched her until she was out of sight before turning to Pina, her smile fading away. "I need you to keep a close eye on her," she instructed.
• Pina bowed. "Yes, your highness," she stated. Although she was puzzled about why she was being told to keep an eye on Diana.
• "Did you find out what I told you to check?" Princess Lissa inquired.
• "No, your highness. By the time I got there, it was already too late, but I kept three maids over there in case they hear or see anything suspicious," Pina conveyed.
• Princess Lissa stood up and moved to the open window, staring at the beautiful daisies, her personal maid Lita behind her. "We need to act fast," she stated with a faraway look on her face. She turned to her maid. "Get me my medicine." Her head was starting to ache, a sign that something bad was on its way, or perhaps already here.
• Lita gave a curt nod and went towards the small round table where the princess's medicine was kept. She mixed the green herbs she had obtained from a healer in the neighboring village before adding water to it and filtering out the green particles. She poured the concocted drink into a small portable ceramic cup and walked over to the princess. "Here you go, your highness." She bowed.
• "Thank you, Lita," Princess Lissa said as she collected the medicine. She drank it in one fell gulp, her face contorting at the bitterness.
• Lita quickly brought out candies and gave one to the princess. Princess Lissa let out a happy shriek on seeing the candy. "That's why you are my favorite maid."
• Lita blushed at the compliment before bowing her head. Princess Lissa popped the candy into her mouth, the sweetness washing away the bitterness of her medicine.
• "Pina, you can go. I will send for you later in the night," Princess Lissa said and went back to her soft pillow beside the table, plopping down and crossing her legs.
• "Your highness," Pina bowed and left. Outside the door, she heaved a sigh of relief. She was met by Hanna, the maid assigned to show them to their chamber. "Hanna."
• "Are you already going?" Hanna asked.
• "Yes," Pina replied then bowed and left. She opened the door to see Diana staring at the daisies. "Beautiful, aren't they?"
• Diana gasped out loud, then turned, she relaxed when she saw it was none other than Pina. "Essh. You scared me," she whined, holding her hand to her heart.
• Pina chuckled. "Didn't mean to," she said. "So... why were you waiting outside?"
• Diana chuckled nervously. "Ehnnnn... I don't know the way to the maids' quarters," she mumbled shyly and looked down.
• Pina stared at her in shock before letting out a series of laughter. "You've been working here for how long? Three years? Two years? And you still don't know the maids' quarters," Pina snickered.
• "Three years," Diana mumbled shyly. "You can't blame me; there hasn't been any reason for me to go over to the maids' quarters until now."
• "Okay, okay... sorry for laughing," Pina grinned. "Let's go."
• Diana looked up at the princess's chambers before rushing to Pina as they walked side by side. The environment was empty compared to when they came to see her highness. The only sound that could be heard was that of the birds singing and also the sounds of grunts coming from the soldiers in training, which was a forbidden area to the maids unless they were sent to deliver food.
• They made a turn right into the maids' quarters as could be seen by the number of maids gossiping freely.
• "Welcome to the maids' quarters," Pina said and gestured to the houses. "Guys.... We have a new member," she called out.
• The maids stopped what they were doing and ran towards the duo. In the maids' quarters, there was nothing like ranks; the purple, pink, and yellow flowery gowned maids all lived together.
• "Welcome." They greeted.
• Diana was so overjoy by the warm welcome though she may find it hard to live in a place like this. "Please treat me well." She said and bowed.
• "Come.. let me show you to your room." Pina said and dragged her to one of the room, they removed their shoes and entered inside, the room was quite spacious with a big size pink blanket neatly lay on the floor where two other maids lay, they quickly sprang up from the blanket and towards them.
• "Welcome. You must be the new roommate?" Question the maid in purple flowery gown.
• "Welcome. I am Kira." The second maid putting on yellow flowery gown introduced.
• "Nice to meet you all. I am Diana,please treat me well." Diana introduced and bowed.
• "The name is Mimi." The purple flowery maid introduced.
• " Please treat us well." Kira and Mimi said and bowed.
• "Now that you have seen your room and your roommate, I think it's time for me to go." Pina stated and turned towards the door.
• "Thank you." Diana muttered.
• "You're welcome." Pina said. "And don't forget to be on time tomorrow." She said and left.
• Diana let out a sign and quickly laid on the blanket. *Tomorrow I will have to go get my stuffs.* She thought and sign heavily.
• Today was something else,she just found out that the lady who killed her in her previous life was the crown princess in this life,and that she has to play weak and humble so as not to suffer punishment from her system.
• *Where even is Pinko?* She thought and close her eyes. Falling into a deep sleep.
