• “I'll be downstairs.” Lily said softly to Cora, glancing briefly at me before moving out of the room. Cora placed her book on the couch space beside her and slowly rose to her feet. Her eyes were brimming with so many emotions, and her smile was getting pretty watery. When she finally spoke, her voice sounded choked up, “My baby boy.” 
• That was all she managed to say, before I found myself in her tender embrace. She was patting my back softly, and I thought I heard a soft sob escape her. With her hugging me right now, strong, healthy and alive hit me hard. The last time I had seen her, she was dead to the world. It was either the doctors put her in coma or death. And putting her in coma had not been guaranteed to save her. She could wake up… and she could die off from there.
