• Faye’s shrill scream immediately rang out behind me. Gritting my teeth, I ran out of the dark storage room as fast as I could, despite my ragged breathing from exhaustion and the numbness spreading through my legs.
• The sound of footsteps echoed relentlessly behind me. I didn’t dare look back, forcing myself to run faster and faster.
