Chapter 3 Maelle, Wait For Your Next Life!

  • I looked up and saw that the gentleness usually present on Faye’s face had vanished, replaced by unmistakable smugness and malice.
  • “What are you saying, Faye? Wasn’t my husband already dead?”
  • I blinked, pretending not to understand, but Faye merely stepped closer to me, a cold laugh escaping her lips.
  • “Your act is pretty convincing, but you can stop pretending now, bitch.”
  • She clicked her tongue.
  • “I deliberately left the door ajar, and I saw your shadow outside.”
  • Looking straight into my eyes, she curled her lips into a sneer.
  • “So, how does it feel to be betrayed by the person you love most? Does it hurt so badly that you want to die?”
  • Faye’s mocking words filled me with disgust. No longer needing to pretend, I let out a cold laugh before replying,
  • “A mistress who destroys another woman’s marriage, then gets pregnant with an illegitimate child, can still be this confident? This is the first time I’ve ever seen someone as shameless as you.”
  • Glancing at Faye’s protruding belly, I clicked my tongue.
  • “I wonder how your baby will feel when it grows up and learns that its mother was a disgusting mistress who got pregnant while its father was still in his marriage with me."
  • Faye clenched her teeth and shrieked,
  • “Bitch, shut up!”
  • She rushed toward me, reaching for my hair. However, I quickly stood up and slapped her hand away.
  • Faye staggered backward, the hatred in her eyes growing even more vicious.
  • “Damn it! The maids!”
  • She called out angrily, and the door immediately swung open. Four burly maids quickly entered the room.
  • Seeing that something was wrong, I hurriedly reached for my phone, intending to call my dad for help. However, Faye reacted faster.
  • She snatched my phone from my hand and hurled it onto the floor.
  • “Trying to call for help? Too late.”
  • Faye let out a cold laugh and cast a glance toward the maids.
  • “Drag that bitch outside!”
  • The four maids immediately lunged toward me, their arms like iron clamps as they seized me and forcibly dragged me forward. I struggled desperately, but to no avail, a bone-chilling cold spreading through my body.
  • A surge of unease tightened around my chest.
  • “What are you trying to do?”
  • I gritted my teeth and glared at Faye, only to see her cover her mouth and laugh.
  • “You thought you could leave this mansion peacefully after discovering our secret? Maelle, wait for your next life!”
  • I struggled to break free, but it was useless. They dragged me forcefully into the hallway, one of them clamping a hand over my mouth to prevent me from making a sound as they hauled me toward the staircase.
  • Cold sweat poured down my spine, making the panic inside me intensify.
  • Finally, they dragged me right to the edge of the staircase.
  • Suddenly, Faye screamed.
  • “Maelle, don’t! Don’t push me, I beg you, ah!”
  • Before I could even process what was happening, the maids released me simultaneously. Faye then kicked me hard from behind.
  • The loss of balance made me scream in panic. I desperately tried to grab onto the railing, but my hand slipped, sending me tumbling down the staircase.
  • My body slammed against the steps again and again, the excruciating pain leaving me numb. Even my head struck the stairs hard, leaving me dizzy as my vision blurred and slowly turned black.
  • Then, through my haze, I vaguely saw one of the maids shove Faye forward from the top of the staircase, sending her tumbling straight toward me.
  • “Maelle, it hurts so much, help me!”
  • “Blaise, help me!”
  • "Blaise!"
  • Faye’s body continued to crash down the stairs as she screamed frantically in panic. Then, she fell heavily onto me, her weight slamming against my leg and making me wince in pain.
  • I struggled to prop myself up with my hands, only to suddenly feel something warm beneath my feet. In a daze, I looked down and saw a long trail of blood flowing from Faye’s lower body, the vivid red making me almost freeze in shock.
  • The baby...
  • Faye looked toward me, a smug smile curling across her lips.
  • While my mind was still hazy, unable to comprehend what was happening, I heard frantic footsteps coming from downstairs near the kitchen.
  • Then, I saw Rhodes rushing toward us in panic.
