When Ashala had left Raynulf, she had been filled with boiling emotions. Part of it was the confrontation between the small tiger-fauneth and the rich bratty dusk elf, and how that had spilled over onto Ashala and her mistress. But that was not all of it. Most of the winds that were blowing her mind and heart into a storm were coming from Raynulf.
He himself wasn't doing much to stir her volatile emotional state. He was far too reserved for that, his hard stony face rarely betraying much emotion at all. He seemed to prefer passively observing, taking in all the information he could while calculating each move he made. She still didn't know what all he felt about learning that he was the host of the King of Passion's spirit, and the vessel of his power.
The one thing he did seem to openly share was a love of learning. During the trip to Ero-Ti he had soaked up everything she had taught, displaying a cunning intellect that surprised her for one so rough. Her heart was in learning as well, so that had warmed her to him. Perhaps it had done more than just warm, though Ashala hadn't let herself think along those lines.
