• "Catch ya later." Chloe drifted off into the crowd. It seemed like she didn't suspect. That was kind of a relief at least. He'd totally gotten away with a deception that he hadn't really intended. But Nick was also feeling a little empty. That was Chloe! It was what he wanted. It was what he'd dreamed of, but it wasn't the way he wanted or dreamed of it happening.
• Nick stood in a party, surrounded by people, feeling more alone than ever. A couple coworkers said hi. He got some punch, downed a few snacks, but it was all kind of a blur. Then finally Nick caught sight of Nishi-Ka-Ren/Jared through the crowd. As he looked closer, he noticed Jared was following a woman dressed in blue.
• The woman looked like Jen, the Technical Recruiter who was well-known to be just about the biggest slut at the company. Jen was dressed as a sexed-up Princess Jasmine, if you could call it dressed. Her costume was extremely see-thru. You could clearly see her nipples through her top, and her equally see-thru pants showed only the skimpiest of G-strings. Jen had the body for it too. Eyes followed her as she moved through the room.
