Chapter 8 He is a mean jerk

  • The room Mrs Jane had given to me was so lovely, it was covered in pink just like my fairy house when I was a kid, this was like a princess bedroom and a very beautiful one, I have my bathroom and the bed is so comfortable if this was what the City was like then I wish my parents would have to move here rather than stay over at that small town.
  • I heard a knock on my door when I was about to start unpacking my bags and I walked over to the door and exhaled sharply to calm my excitement before opening the door.
  • “Can I come in?” Mr Jane asked with a smile and she was too elegant to look at and beauty should be her second name.
  • “Yes please,” It was her house and I wish she could come in anytime without asking, she was just too kind and lovely.
  • “I hope you like the room?” She asked me and then added immediately. “If you don't, I can always change it.”
  • I look at the spacious room and can’t imagine who wouldn’t love this room. “No, the room is very pretty.” I flashed Mrs Jane a cute smile and she held my hands and tapped it gently and adorably.
  • “I am glad you love it.” She smiled back and I couldn’t help thinking that I wanted her as a godmother.
  • I walked over to the table and handed her a box. “My mother asked me to give this to you.” Mr Jane received it and looked inside and her eyes lit up.
  • “Oh, cupcakes!” she exclaimed and looked up at me. “I am so grateful, I will enjoy it then, I love her cupcakes and cookies.” I beam. “If you are done unpacking your things then come downstairs for dinner.”
  • “Okay, Mrs Jane.
  • “See you downstairs then.” She left my room and I couldn’t help thinking how pretty she was. I walked over to unpack my bag not wanting to keep them waiting.
  • Dinner was an awesome one, Mrs jane’s meal was delicious and she talked a lot with her son who was more like a grumpy child than an adult, he was handsome, I barely looked at him to take in all the details, he had a cold gaze that could make someone frightened and I could tell that he was not happy with me staying here.
  • But, I was glad to know that he can smile especially when he looks at his mother with those lovely eyes of his, he might not be too bad a person.
  • I helped Mrs Jane clear the table and wanted to wash the dishes but she was against it telling me to go in and rest since I got to prepare for school the next day. I didn’t mind, but she wouldn’t let me do it so I headed upstairs to my room.
  • “Hey!” I heard a deep voice once I was close to my door and I halted and turned around to see cold eyes staring at me like I was an ant and I had to look down to my feet but on a second thought I looked up, I did nothing wrong to be scared.
  • “Yes…” I gaze at his eyes that were icy and then to push off the fear from me I smile broadly and search for words to say. “Umm.. .we should at least greet each other in a friendly manner.” I know we started on the wrong foot but I won’t feel much intimidated if we become friends.
  • “Since we would be living under the same roof and going to the same school…” I heard his mother say that on the dining table and I was surprised to hear it, but not so surprising since it was a school of the wealthy and they were wealthy.
  • “What?” His brow snapped and he looked at me like a wolf about to devour its prey and I had to make an awkward chuckle to push my fears aside.
  • “I am Ivana Kim…”
  • “Don’t delude yourself.” He cut me off before I could finish as his cold voice made the place I stood so cold that I wondered if the cold air had blown into this place and sent a shiver to my spine.
  • He sized me up. “I don’t want you in this house.” He was stern and I could tell he was very honest in saying what he hates. “Neither do I want to get to know you so stay out of my way if you don’t want to be kicked out of this house.”
  • This was just too cold!
  • “But…”
  • “Also, don’t think you can be familiar with me,” His lips curled up and he scanned me with his cold eyes in disgust and I had to follow his gaze to see if there was something wrong with me and damn yes, I feel so uncomfortable right now.
  • “We may go to the same school but we aren’t the same class.” He was indifferent, I should shut my mouth but I still feel the urge to say something.
  • “We are in the same class, your mother said that I and you would be in the same class in school.” He shook his head in disdain.
  • “You don’t even have a common sense to begin with, I meant to say you are low class, so stick to your level and your side of this house, I don’t want you to overstep your boundaries.” He paused and put his hands in his pocket and I was speechless.
  • He was rude! I registered that in my brain.
  • “I should think you understand everything I just said now so clearly, now get lost!” His lips moved fast and stern and without another word, he went into his room and bangs the door making me flinch.
  • So much for being friendly!
  • I opened my room door and walked into it. He was handsome but he was a mean and rude jerk. The sound of his voice telling me to get lost still played in my head that I had to shake it off. Although he was mean to me, his mother was nice.
  • I heard my phone ring just when I was about to sit down and I grabbed a hold of it and a smile escaped my lips when I saw who was calling.
  • “Hello, mom,” I responded, putting the phone on my ear and sitting on my desk facing the open window and I could see stars twinkling above.
  • “Ivana, have you met her?” My mother asked and now I felt guilty for not calling earlier when I arrived here.
  • “Yes, sorry if I made you worried by not informing you earlier, I was unpacking my things.
  • “I understand the child, I hope she is good to you?”
  • “Yes mom, she welcomed me with open arms and she is so nice, also I got a pretty room in her mansion.” I looked around the room and my heart's leap again for joy.
  • “I am glad, now rest well okay, we would be in touch.”
  • “Thank you, mom,” I told her and we both said goodnight and ended the call. It doesn’t matter what the son of Mrs Jane says, it won’t stop me from having fun here. In addition, I will be seeing Kate and Hinn Carlos tomorrow.
