• "No, son." Daryl snapped at Mark. "I wish you could see that." He bangs on the table angrily.
• There was an absolute silence. Jovi stared back at Mark, who felt comfortable, his eyes looked bothered by the statement his father made. She felt like a fifth wheel, not knowing exactly what was going on. Suddenly, the doorbell chimes. To her surprise, Mark moves his chair backwards effortlessly and stands up to his feet. Mark stared down at his untouched meal of bacon and looks at his father.
• "Dinner saved by the bell. I'll go get the door. Pardon me."
