Chapter 5 Meet Mr grumpy

• NORMAN'S POV
• I looked at my watch for the third time, why is Annie taking so long to serve my evening tea, and jenny...she hasn't brought the files yet
• "That girl is always looking for a reason to sleep over and try to lure me to bed; I wonder when she will finally understand that she is just my assistant and nothing more"
• Hi everyone...I am Norman Merlin, CEO of Merlin enterprises and son of a politician, Thomas Merlin.
• I am popularly recognized in Sidney town as the youngest CEO, I am just twenty five but I own properties worth more than twenty five trillion.
• Yeah...all I needed to make it happen was a silver spoon plus my determination and hard work, oh.. .am also a lawyer by the way.
• I was still waiting for the ladies when my phone rang. I checked the caller id and it was dad
• "Hmm...What does he want now" I huffed and tapped the green icon.
• "Hey Norman my boy" his voice sounded from the other side
• "Hello dad" I replied bluntly.
• "How are you doing son?"
• "Am okay dad"
• "Good...can you do your old man a favour?"
• "What do you want now dad?"
• "Well...your presence at a party tonight"
• "Come on dad, you know I hate parties"
• "Please my boy...it won't be for long, the thing is that one of my political rivals is throwing a party tonight and I would love to show off my boy, the only lawyer in Sidney town who has never loosed a case in his carrier" he bragged and I smiled.
• "Fine...but on one condition dad" I said
• "Which is?"
• "You stop calling me boy, I mean am not a kid anymore" I smiled and he burst into laughter.
• "Alright boy...I will see to it" he chuckled.
• "Okay dad, send me the location and I will try to be there on time"
• "Okay...I will text you right away" he concluded and hangs up.
• Just then...Annie walked in with my tea, she walks straight to me and drops it on a small table. She turned to leave but I halt her immediately.
• "Annie...Are you crying?"
• "Um...no sir, I am not" she sniffed trying to conceal the tears but it was very obvious that she had been crying.
• “Annie, look at me” I ordered and she faced me. Her eyes were red and swollen
• "Tell me Ann, what's wrong?" I asked softly.
• "Sir...it's my...my...my dad" she stuttered now breaking down completely.
• "What happened to him?" I queried.
• "I just got the information that he had a terrible accident sir" she uttered amidst tears.
• "Oh...so sorry about that, why are you still here, go and check on him" I ordered.
• "Okay sir...thank you so much, I will be back tomorrow"
• "It's okay, take your time"
• She wiped her tears off with her palms and walked off.
• About ten minutes later, I heard footsteps behind me followed by a strong perfume.
• "Annie...is that you?" I asked with eyes still fixed on the TV
• "Who is Annie?" a feminine voice asked and giggled.
• I turned around and of course it was her; jenny Mendel
• KIRANA'S POV
• He drove us into a large compound which had three buildings and a cottage in it, it was quite large and beautiful but not as large as our castle back in Westham.
• "Is this where you live?" Reenie queried.
• "Yeah...it's my house, you like it?"
• "Yeah...it looks nice" she giggled.
• I looked around and there were hefty men all over the compound, they were all dressed in black all through except for two who were standing in front of the biggest mansion in the compound; they were putting on a white short sleeved T-shirt that emphasized their abs and muscles to perfection, matched with black trousers and a pair of white sneakers.
• We came down from the car and he led us towards the largest mansion
• "Should we get the bags?" Reenie asked. For a moment back I had forgotten we were here with bags.
• "No...Don't worry about that, the servants will do that" he smiled exposing his white set of teeth
• We got to the two able bodied men and the bowed their head, he made a gesture with his hand which I didn't take cognisance to.
• I noticed the way Reenie kept staring at them, I hope it's not what I am thinking, I mean how could she?...
• REENIE'S POV
• Oh my gosh, this guys are so huge and hot, unlike the guys in Westham. Maybe coming here won't be as bad as I imagined, something is telling me that this will be the greatest adventure of my life.
• He led us into the building, the whole place was glittering with precious stones, there were objects emitting different colours of light up, in one of the rooms we entered was a big screen which displayed humans in different environments.
• "Is this a kind of magic mirror" I whispered to kirana.
• “No Reenie...it's called a television” she replied in a whisper.
• The guy turned to us and is milled, he smiled back and kept moving.
• Soon we got to a room and he opened the door
• It was painted pink all through; the floor was smooth, shiny and colourful. There was another television in it.
• The view from the window is absolutely marvellous, I looked out through the window and saw two ladies bringing out our bags from the car, on the other side, the two men on white and black stood with stagnantly arms folded behind, on one side a could see a little river (don't mind the witch, it's a swimming pool not a river), it was situated in between four barriers that held it from overflowing, the water in it was pure white, I haven't seen a river so clean and beautiful before.
• "Ok girls...this...is your room for the mean time, don't hesitate to request for anything you need, just contact one of the maids through the telephone on the table, I will be back in a while to check on you, okay?" he smiled.
• "Yeah...great, thanks a lot" I replied
• He walked off and closed the door behind him.
• "Oh my gosh, Kira...this place is awesome...I am so loving this"
• "Listen Reenie, I know you are excited, but try to control yourself, remember why we are here, we are not of this world and we should ensure to keep that a secret" Kira uttered.
• "I know all that girl, remember I am the responsible one, you don't need to be all bossy" I replied and scoffed.
• KIRANA'S POV
• I walked to the bed and sat on it, it was so soft to the touch, and the bed sheet was pink in colour, my favourite.
• A smile made its way to my lips but it did not last. Someone suddenly knocked on the door and my heart skipped a bit.
• "Who is there" I asked.
• "Ma...I have come to deliver your luggage"
• Oh how could I forget?
• I walked to the door and let her in, she was about my age, fair in complexion, black long curly hair, I can't believe she is a maid.
• "Ma, can I leave now or do you need something else?"
• "Funny...why do you refer to me as Ma, we are probably age mates" I chuckled.
• "Yes ma, but you are still my boss guest"
• "So? It doesn't matter, you can call me kirana"
• "Kirana? What kind of a name is that? oh...I...I am sorry if I sounded rude"
• "It is okay, what's yours?"
• "Oh...am Prisca" she smiled.
• "Wow...Prisca...that's a cute name" I thought.
• So Prisca, could you please show me the bathroom"
• "Oh...it's the room right there" she said pointing to a door close to the wardrobe.
• "Oh...ok, thanks a lot"
• "Sure ma, if you need any other thing, just press the button and I will be at your service"
• "Okay dear" I smiled.
• She turned and left smiling.
• I shut the door and turned to Reenie who was still staring out of the window.
• "Dear ancestors, please guide us in this world very far from ours, keep us away from harm" I prayed silently.
