Chapter 724 I’m Missing Her, Yet She Has Forgotten Me

  • People constantly walked past him as they came and went, the airport bustling. However, Ethan’s gaze had long since gone blurry. He couldn’t see or hear anything as Lauren’s remark of ‘Ethan, let’s wipe the slate clean between us henceforth. You no longer owe me anything’ echoed in his mind. In the end, he had no inkling how long he stood and waited in the airport, nor did he remember how he left. His legs felt leaden as though bogged down with weights, and his heart was numb, so much so that he couldn’t feel anything, not even pain.
  • Meanwhile, Lauren was sitting in the plane with a smile on her face as the plane taxied off the runway and took to the sky. Sitting by the window, she watched as everything on the ground gradually grew smaller in her eyes before turning into tiny black specks in the end and disappearing entirely after the clouds blanketed them.
  • “Mommy, why does the bad man look so sad when we leave?” Riley, who was sitting beside her, asked out of the blue.
