Chapter 21 Time apart

• Noah returned home a few hours later. He could smell Lola had left but her presence still lingered on his mind. He sat in the dark listening to the silence wondering what to do. He thought that he connected with Lola after he opened up about his family to her. He should have known that it was stupid to let his guard down. She already used the information against him a day later. He sighed and went upstairs to try and get some sleep.
• Every time he closed his eyes Lola her image flashed in front of him. She had looked absolutely smoking in that lace top and tight pants. All he had wanted to do was pick her up, bring her home and rip off her clothes. Exploring every single inch of her body with his mouth and hands until her body would shiver from ecstasy. He had spent the whole night watching her dance and having a good time. Until her impulsive ass found trouble again. It was not that he disagreed with what she did. It was just the fact that she did whatever she thought was right without thinking of the consequences. He didn’t have the luxury of acting out purely on gut feelings. Neither should his mate, he needed someone by his side who understood the burden of responsibilities. For the first time, he wondered if the moon goddess had been wrong about intertwining their souls. It would be good to distance himself from Lola for a while. He needed some time to think.
