Chapter 6

  • —Be calm, he's just sleeping.
  • I rolled my eyes and I was right, he is asleep, I forget that sometimes he talks in his sleep. Annoyed to enter my house I told him to go away, but Antton just laughs at me and that makes my mood worse and worse.
  • I got up from my place and went up to my room so fast that I almost fell on the way, I secured the door very well to keep him out, but I had a hell of a scare when I saw him sitting on my bed.
  • —Do you want to scare me to death?!
  • When he stands up and watches me as his dinner, my heart freaks out, I try to open the door, but in the blink of an eye he is already on me with his hands on either side of my head.
  • My breathing is labored, my skin bristles as his right hand takes my hair and pushes it aside, his lips leave a kiss on my skin as his hands grab my waist and hold on to it, I close my eyes as I feel him turn me on my heels slowly until I have him in front of me.
  • —Open your eyes. —As much as you want to run away from me, ... you won't be able to do it.
  • My heart goes crazy when the edge of his fangs graze my skin and his hand outlines the tattoo on my back, such a strange sensation that I didn't want him to stop touching it, what the hell is wrong with me? I shouldn't let this guy feed on me, such a strange ecstasy that reminded me that I now belong to him and I can't do anything to change this
  • When his fangs stop eliciting that sensation, I shift uncomfortably because I didn't want him to stop, he looks into my eyes, they sparkle as he is adorned by a smile that only a psychopath would have, yet, seeing that smile was so seductive to me as I admire the crimson color of his eyes
  • As he blinked once, just once he took advantage of that moment to disappear from my sight, I looked for him with my eyes, but he was no longer in my room. I spent the whole night thinking about him and the next day too, I couldn't concentrate in class because I could only think about Antton.
  • The teasing no longer felt like it affected me because my mind was busy, a while ago I felt that I was pushed and I saw that it had been Oliver and still I did not care; I was waiting for my father at the exit and I realized that I was not the only one, a chubby girl was waiting for someone, I did not take importance until I saw how the boys of the soccer team surrounded her intimidating her.
  • —What's wrong, did you forget where your piggy farm is...?
  • When Oliver spoke, my blood started to flare, I didn't have help from anyone when I got here, but that doesn't mean I'm going to let anyone be made fun of just because of their looks, that girl is a freshman, you can tell she's a freshman.
  • —Hey... they say your mother died after she gave birth to you, didn't you eat her because you were hungry or did you kill her because of how big you are?
  • Everyone started to laugh and the grieving girl began to cry silently.
  • —Hey...!
  • I caught the attention of the boy who had said that crap about her, when he looked at me annoyed when I told him that he had lost one of his balls he questioned my words annoyed with a "What?"
  • —If not that otherwise he wouldn't talk that way about a girl.
  • I saw his intentions to hit me so I grabbed the backpack that was heavy enough to hit him, as it falls to the ground, another boy grabs my arms and holds me down as I see Oliver approach me
  • —So you didn't get enough bitch. I let it go before, but now I'm going to teach you a lesson so you don't stick your nose where it doesn't belong.
  • He grabs one of my arms and I start to worry as I see them forcing me to bend over backwards, "they're going to break my arm."
  • —No, that's enough, don't do it!
  • All of Oliver's friends were screaming for him to do it and he looks at me with amusement, I close my eyes as I say his name in a whisper at the terror I was feeling and even more at the thought of the pain it would cause me.
  • —Wow, wow... —I open my eyes when I see that voice was Dalton. —Are they really planning to break a girl's arm?
  • —Baltimore... —Oliver reflects a fear in his eyes when he sees it —You'd better stay out of this.
  • —Oh of course I wouldn't, but unfortunately, she's very... important and if you mess with something that belongs to our family you know what the consequences are.
  • Oliver frowns, pissed off he orders the boys to let me go, he looks at me angrily then walks away, the first year girl ran to me and worriedly helps me stand up while asking me if I'm ok.
  • My legs tremble as I try to stand up with the help of the girl, but the fear is still present, suddenly Dalton grabs me by the neck and whips me against the wall of the walls surrounding the high school.
  • —What the hell were you doing risking yourself like that?!
  • The new girl falls to the ground terrified as she watches motionless what is happening, my hands cling to hers that is slowly strangling me.
  • —If you hurt me... he....
  • He made a mocking gesture when he realized what I meant. He releases me and as I fall to the ground I start coughing quickly looking for some air, dalton grabs my chin forcing me to look him in the eyes.
  • —You're stupid, do you think Antton cares about you? Don't be silly. You're just his hobby to feed on, or did you see him here when you called him? He was watching all this time and yet he didn't lift a finger to help you.
  • A pain settles in my chest at the truth that Dalton just told me, he watches the girl next to me and then disappears, I clench my hands as I feel like a fool.
  • —He was here...
