Chapter 9 Day Off

  • "Meredith?" I heard a paint knocking on the door.
  • "Did you eat your dinner? Let's have dinner together!" Alessandra told me behind that close door.
  • I sat up in bed and quickly wiped away the tears.
  • "All right, go ahead, I'm still full!" my answer.
  • "Is something wrong? Are you feeling bad?" she asked me.
  • I couldn't help but exhale violent air from my chest before answering again.
  • "I'm okay, "I said again.
  • I looked at the door when I heard Gabriel's voice calling his wife.
  • "Alright, don't forget to take your medicine, okay?" she ordered after I heard her footsteps away from the door.
  • I went back to lying down and hugged the pillow. At that point again my tears dripped because of the overweight feeling.
  • As I heard from outside their laughter and flirting. I could not bear the pain that was delicately cutting into my heart.
  • I spent a few hours before I decided to leave the room.
  • Hugging my own clothes. I went straight to the kitchen to join them from eating, but everything was clean when I arrived. Even the sink are clean.
  • I pulled out a chair and sat down with my head down.
  • "I can't stay here anymore. I want to leave," I whispered softly as I closed my eyes.
  • "You haven't eaten yet?"
  • I almost fell off the chair when I heard a voice from Gabriel. I quickly adjusted myself and looked up at him.
  • "Alessandra is worried about you." He stared at me intently from the wide door.
  • "She said, you didn't take your medicine properly." He leaned against the door so that his muscles were stretched fully.
  • Again, I am silent.
  • "My wife has a lot of work to do as an events planner and I don 't want her to have a lot of problems when she comes home."
  • He straightened up and walked closer in front of me. I leaned my back on the chair as he pressed both hands on the table.
  • "We hired you just because we needed someone to help her and reduce her workload after work. But you're still the one who comes out to be cared for and cared for in this house." He pointed to the table as he spoke sharply in front of me.
  • Again I said nothing, there is no doubt, he could eat me alive if I did not speak.
  • "I'm sorry, I just felt bad earlier, it won't happen again." My voice is shaking.
  • "Damn! I don't fucking accept your excuse! All I want here is for you to do your job well! "he said staring into my eyes.
  • He hovered for a moment when I looked at my face and frowned slightly.
  • "Wait, are you crying?" he asked weakly.
  • "Hah? No... I'm not" I started to smile, to hide the heartache.
  • "Look, I don't want to be cruel. I'm just saying what you should do and not do in my house." He go straight to the front of the table.
  • I bent down because I couldn't stop my tears from dripping which I quickly wiped away because I knew he had seen it.
  • "Damn it!"
  • He turned his back on me and started coming out of the kitchen.
  • I was left with nothing to say, that's also where I let out what I had been holding back from crying. I couldn't eat anymore and I went straight to my room and there again I cried all the pain. I'll just cry over and then I'm fine, I'll choose even if it hurts.
  • "Meredith, will you take care of this house?" Alessandra said goodbye to me tomorrow.
  • Before she turned around she gave me a money for grocery today.
  • " Gab's day off today so he can take you to the grocery store," she said.
  • Immediately an intense trembling rose in my heart because of what I had said.
  • "I just go there alone," I said.
  • "It's up to you, as long as I tell you not to forget to lock the house tightly before you leave in case Gabriel has a walk."
  • I just nodded and looked at her as she boarded the car. I also opened the gate for her to get out. She even waved at me from inside the car before turning the car away and I entered the house.
  • I looked up the stairs because until now Gabriel had not come down for breakfast. Nor did I lose my nervousness at the thought that we were the only two left here today.
  • Quickly I started cleaning the whole house, even though I didn't want to, I tried to stimulate my body.
  • I started in the living room. I wiped with a cleaning mop and changed the curtains, I also wiped the figurines and dividers.
  • The paintings in ine corner that have not yet been fixed, I hang to the rest of the house while some were left for me to hang on top.
  • I did not stop until I was satisfied and then I went to the kitchen to clean the sink and the last one was the bathroom.
  • I couldn't help but get wet wearing my sleeveless shirt and leggings while cleaning the sweat. I wiped the sweat off as I settled in and smiled at the good result.
  • I went out to go to the back of the house when I saw Gab coming down the stairs.
  • I was holding a pail of water so I barely lowered it to greet him.
  • "Good morning!" I smiled at him, even though I knew we had an argument last night I couldn't help but give it a smile.
  • He didn't answer but made me think he was upset.
  • "Ah, I'll serve you breakfast." Stunned, I said, suddenly left the bucket to go to the kitchen.
  • One by one I opened the covered food and made my way to the drawer to picked with clean dishes and spoons. I looked at him in the coffee maker and poured coffee into the cup.
  • I just watched him sit in the capital chair as he sipped his coffee.
  • "Your breakfast!" Again I smiled at him.
  • I tightened my grip on the hem of my dress as I looked up at me after my cup of coffee.
  • "Have you had breakfast yet? Join me."
  • "Ha? !"
  • He had no answer instead he looked down at my wet body. He lowered the cutlery and leaned back in his chair.
  • "Change your clothes first, you might get sick." His stern eyes pinned me to the floor, I couldn' t see anything to say because of nervousness.
  • He kept thinking that I would be wearing what I was wearing after just shrugging.
  • "Ah, no, I'm going to the back of the house to clean. Maybe later." I stuttered saying that the retreat had begun.
  • Again he has no comment on my answer.
  • "S-thank you!" I couldn't help but say so he looked straight at me again.
