Chapter 6 First Day

  • "Really, are you sure about this? Do you want me to hire you as servant?" she asked with eyes widened at me.
  • I glanced at Gabriel who was still has blank face before nodding at him.
  • "If only I could?" I hesitate to smile at them.
  • "You said, you were on your vacation. Why did you think of applying to us as a maid?" Gabriel look at me with full of curiosity.
  • I immediately thought of the reason for this. I also don't plan to apply as a maid but it looks like I'm exhausted so I'll stand up.
  • "I'm a little bored because I'm at home, besides my husband isn't here and I've left my job in Queensland Island so I also need to earn some money somehow. I also plan to resign from my job because the company is not doing well. "I'm lying.
  • I noticed that he lowered the cutlery and leaned back in his chair so I swallowed.
  • "I don't get it, you said you had a job left in Queensland and you're here for a vacation and then you said you wanted to come in as a maid?" He folded his arms as he measured my gaze.
  • "E-exactly, as long as you haven't found a maid yet," I shrugged it off as I turned poker face.
  • "The maid's salary isn' t that much compared to the company you say you work for? Tell me what makes up your mind to change jobs-easier than getting help?"
  • You! you are the reason. I couldn't said that word to him so I bowed.
  • "Honey, as long as we haven't found a helper yet, why not just Meredith? After all, we don't know anyone in our area yet, so she's good first?" she latter stroked Gabriel's arm as if deep in thought .
  • "If you don't want to be okay with me, I'll just look for another job." I slightly lowered my voice and bowed.
  • I want to beat myself up for my hasty decisions today. At first it wasn't in my plan, because my plan was to rush here to their house and confront them so they would know that I was Gabriel's real wife, but after the accident. I lost the will to do that the more I got to know and Alessandra.
  • " Okay, if that's what you want." Gabriel smiled at his wife.
  • "Great! That's why I love you so much," Alessandra utter sweetly. She pulled the nape of Gabriel to kiss.
  • I use to lick my lips at the same time due to the loneliness in the scene. But I didn't expect Gabriel to look at me so quickly after that kiss.
  • "You can start now, Alessandra will tell you what to do," he said to me seriously.
  • "Alright," I replied.
  • He never glanced at me again because he turned to his wife to talk again.
  • If I look at them they seem to have a very perfect life. Happy and without thinking of problems. I want to think twice, maybe it's too late. But I am already here and I am ready to take and reclaim what is mine. That was none other than Hezekiah.
  • The dinner was over and I took care of our meal, Alessandra helped me because of the wound on my arm. I also washed the dishes.
  • "This will be your room." She opened to me the room downstairs near the kitchen. It was bigger than I expected so I couldn't help but caress the warm bed by the window.
  • "Gabriel and I have a room upstairs, there are four rooms upstairs and ours is at the end," she explained.
  • "Gab comes to work at 8 o'clock in the morning but he leaves at 7 so you have to cook his breakfast when he goes down to the kitchen. I also going to work that time." She continued to visit cabinets and some windows that were still empty.
  • "Gab has a lot of work to do in the office and some prior meetings, and I sometimes spend the night checking and organizing the event." She turned to me.
  • "If you want me to take you to your house tomorrow so you can get some of your stuff?"she questioned that I was too nervous.
  • "Ah, no! I can do it alone." I waited for her approval and then she nod and I was able to breathe properly.
  • "Gabriel rest day is Wednesday and Sunday he has two rest days in a week. I am also busy because I am an events planner, so I am mostly out of the town.
  • "Don't worry, a laundry lady is coming here every weekend. She only does laundry and cleaning the house. But since you're here, maybe I' ll just send her here once a week. She can't stay in because her husband is sick." she smiled at me before heading for the windows to open.
  • "Do you have any questions?" she turned her face to me again.
  • "How did you meet Gabriel?" I explicitly question.
