Chapter 4 Typical House

  • I WANT to hug him tightly and lock him in his arms as before, as before when he still loves me.
  • I wanted to ask him a lot about how he survived and why he married someone else? If he even tried to find me? I wanted to know even more why he didn't know me.
  • Maybe he noticed my repeated glance so, he turned to me again.
  • "I'm Gabriel Magnus, and the woman behind us is my wife, Alessandra Magnus." He barely glanced at the rear view mirror where his alleged wife was in the car.
  • I can't help but to shake my head repeatedly, I don't agree with what he said. His wife? That's bullshit!
  • "Why?" he chuckled.
  • I quickly glanced at him with a frown.
  • "Ah, nothing. I'm Emory Meredith Grant."There was a sore throat I said before averting my gaze.
  • "Hmm, nice name."
  • I looked at him with shock in my eyes. I wanted to speak again but the car stopped. We are already in the hospital.
  • I was also observed for about half an hour. I also underwent Xray and CT scans. The wound on my arm had to be stitched up because of the deep wound. It's good that I didn't take anything seriously on my body, only a bruise on my hip.
  • "Doc, thank you so much!" I heard the woman say to the Doctor who at the same time entered my room.
  • "No problem, Mrs. Magnus, the patient can be discharged any time. Just be sure to take her medicines properly so that there is no infection happen," he said and they both glanced at me.
  • "Ah – I'll just talk to her, "she said goodbye to the doctor who had left.
  • "How are you?" She started when we were the only ones inside.
  • "I'm fine, thank you," I uttered without looking into his eyes.
  • "I'd like to apologize for what happened. It's my fault I didn 't pay attention to you right away." She was finally close to the side of my bed.
  • "It's fine, I'm also at fault because I didn't look at the road before crossing."
  • It was silent for a moment , as if not knowing what to say, I also noticed that she first gathered air in the chest before opening her lips.
  • "I'm really sorry for what happened, if you want to file a case against me, fine, I'm ready to face the case." There's a trace of sincerity in her voice.
  • "Don't worry I have no intention of filing a complaint against you," I sparingly answer.
  • I saw her face light up at what I said so I quickly averted my gaze.
  • "Can I go now?" I asked.
  • "Let's just wait for Gabriel. He's at the cashier area, where do you live?" she asked, trying to make a long conversation.
  • "Just near in the city." I have a weak answer.
  • "If you want we'll take you, or you'd better stay with us tonight." She offered politely.
  • "Oh, isn' t it too much of a hassle for me to do this. No, thanks, I can do it myself." I was embarrassed to say. Just when the door opened which made my heart jump.
  • "Love!" My lips parted as she greeted the newcomer with a hug and a kiss.
  • "How was she?" I heard his question to the woman he thought his wife.
  • "The doctor said she can go now."
  • "That's good to hear that, so can we go home now?" He planted a simple kiss on the shaft of the woman's neck that didn't escape my sight so, I quickly bent down to hide the drawn pain in my heart.
  • " Can we invited her for dinner? After all, her house is close to us so we can take her home?" The woman said to his husband.
  • Instead of answering, he glanced at me, which I quickly avoided to hang the hair on my ear before bowing.
  • "Let's dinneir together, before we take you home." It wasn't an invitation but a command that I knew I couldn't refuse.
  • "Ah, I'm fine, I can go home alone." I straightened my gaze on him as if deep in thought while staring at me.
  • "Come on, promise to take home after we ate dinner."The woman interrupted our conversation.
  • "S-All right..." I finally agreed for many reasons. Although this was not my plan in the beginning I did nothing but agree. Perhaps heaven has set our reunion.
  • I couldn't help but be amazed at the beauty and size of the house. This is not so typical house you will find near the beach. This is a modern yet simple house that I rarely see today. Every details of the house is obviously amazing. Some walls are made of pure stone and the decalced wood specially designed on the ceiling, even the granite flooring in different colors added simplicity but with a former look of the house.
  • "Come on, don't be shy! I'm sorry because I haven't been able to take care of some things yet, because we just moved here a few months ago." It was Alessandra's voice that had left me to go to the kitchen.
  • I looked around the house, I'm right, some things are a bit messy, even the paintings aren't very well arranged.
