• Ryan dropped the food package on the counter and turned back to Emily. She squealed when he suddenly lifted her up and made her sit on the kitchen island. She didn't miss how he winced though.
• Stubborn jerk... He's hurt yet he still has the stamina to carry her. He gave her a little smile and kissed her cheek. "Sit here and wait for me... I'll be done in a jiffy," He winked at her.
• She almost had the urge to poke his bruised lips and see if the naughty smirk would be wiped off from his face when he felt pain.
