Chapter 8

  • Scott brought out his phone and read the message again. He chuckled coldly when he saw the words again. The chauffeur in the front glanced at him quickly before facing the road. He isn't ready to lose his job.
  • Earlier, Scott had almost frozen in fear when he noticed Ryan behind him. His mind had been clouded with questions like,' Did he hear all that I said?', ' How long has he been standing there?', 'Jeez! Did he hear me proclaim to them that he is a gay?', 'Is he going to get angry and hit me?'
  • But to his surprise, Ryan had just told him coolly, "The rain has already stopped. Are you planning to spend the night here?"
  • He had been stunned for a while before he reacted and shook his head sideways vigorously. He couldn't risk spending the night here and getting murdered in his sleep.
  • He still doesn't know if Ryan heard anything at all and why he isn't reacting? "No... I'll call my chauffeur now to come over and pick me up. Is it okay if I leave the motorbike here brother? I'll come by tomorrow and take it away," he answered sheepishly.
  • He was smirking inwardly at his ability to find a way to come over the next day. The motorbike is a good excuse to come to his house the next day.
  • "No problem," Ryan gave a curt reply and he didn't waste a second in sending a message to his chauffeur. And then a few minutes later, that's why he's now in a black Porsche heading to his house.
  • "Don't go that way. I'm not going home yet," he suddenly spoke as the chauffeur was about to take a left turn off the expressway. The chauffeur halted his action immediately.
  • "Where to sir?" He asked.
  • "The usual," Scott replied with a meaningful gaze at the chauffeur who immediately understood and nodded. So instead of taking the left turn, he took the right turn.

  • Ryan crouched low and stroked the cute puppy in his arms. He brought out a leash and tied it around the puppy's neck. The puppy gave a happy 'woof!' sound cause she knows what they are about to do.
  • 'Can this small, weak thing be compared to me?' Ray's voice suddenly floated in Ryan's head. His voice was filled with so much aggrieved and contempt.
  • Ryan chuckled and bolted his door. This wolf doesn't give up, does it? ' Yes... I can still take her out and people are friendly to her,' Ryan answered. He could almost see Ray rolling his eyes at his response.
  • ' That's heartbreaking. How can you choose a mere puppy over your wolf!?,' Ray whined unhappily. 'People will also be friendly to me and like me if you let me out just once,' he continued.
  • The puppy gave another 'woof!' sound as she walked happily down the street. Ryan smiled and made sure to hold on tightly to her leash.
  • ' No... I think if they even catch just a sight of you, they'd have you locked up in a cage the next minute. Stop complaining too much and be happy about the little freedom you have... I'll find a way to shift soon,' Ryan tried to reassure him.
  • ' I'm afraid that day will never come. I'm bored!' Ray whined loudly. Ryan smiled and shoved him to the back of his mind, blocking off his pitiful cries.

  • "How can someone be so weird? Who'd take such a cute puppy out on a walk, on a rainy day and that too when it's already getting late?" Lena complained as she looked through the window.
  • She has been standing by the window side for a while now. Emily looked up at her and turned back to her phone. She had a disturbing look on her face as she typed furiously.
  • Lena turned to look at her when she received no response. "Sister... Were you even listening to me?" She questioned, walking closer to Emily to peek at what seemed to have captured her attention.
  • Emily looked up just in time to see Lena beside her and she tried to hide her phone but was too late cause Lena had already seen the name of the person she was chatting with.
  • The latter's face darkened in anger as she stared at Emily. "Emily... I thought you blocked his contact. Why is that jerk still disturbing you!?," She couldn't help but shriek in anger.
  • "Ssh... Don't mom hear you? She'll be mad," Emily tried to hush her.
  • "I'm mad. Why is he still able to chat with you!?," Lena wouldn't hear any of it.
  • She looked even more furious when Emily didn't say a word. She reached around and snatched Emily's phone away. She read the last lines of messages and her face darkened even more.
  • "Seriously!," She looked at Emily with unbelief. "Are you seriously gonna believe him? You know what? I don't care. We are no longer where he could easily meet up with you and beg. I swear I was going to beat him up that day if you didn't stop me."
  • "Lena, please don't be so loud," Emily looked at the door cautiously. "He already apologized. He said he's sorry."
  • "Sister... Sorry doesn't make up for what he did! He even got her pregnant. I can't believe you are the one telling me this right now," Lena retorted furiously.
  • Emily didn't have words to say after that. Lena glared at her and switched on her phone. She clicked on the voice message icon on the phone and sent a vicious voice note to him.
  • She even ended it with a loud 'GO FUCK YOURSELF!'. After seeing that the jerk saw her message, she faced Emily, "I am going to block his contact now and delete it from your phone."
  • She didn't just say it... As she was saying it, she blocked him and deleted his contact. Then she sat down beside Emily and pouted, "Emily... You are not angry, are you? He doesn't deserve you."
  • Emily smiled and assured her, "I'm not angry. Thank you."
  • "Promise me that you'd never contact him again or message him," Lena was still suspicious.
  • Only after Emily said, "I promise," did she leave her. "Oh no! The cute puppy is gone...," She complained when she walked back to the window side and didn't see the puppy she had been watching earlier.
