Chapter 14

• Reena's POV:
• ~"A lifeless and bloody body was found earlier today in one of the rooms of the very prestigious five star hotel, 'Hotel Mirage'. The body was identified as that of the Belgian gang leader and mafioso, René Göttingen.
• There are no traces of fight and so far the FBI has found nothing that could hint on who murdered him.
• It got to our hearing that the security cameras had been hacked and most importantly, no one heard anything."~
• The cameras then show what one of the FBI officers has to say about the case during a press conference with the different journalists on the case. He says:
• ~"We think this has to do with some rivalry between the gangs. For now we assume it is linked to issues that involve the Cuban and Mexican mafia, given that he treated a lot with them. We will continue our thorough investigations and get back to you."~
• He ends the conference and walks away. The journalist turns to his camera.
• ~"As you have heard it yourself, it is assumed that all this is due to some rivalry with the Latino gangs and–"~
• I switched the TV off, completely uninterested and because the news was disturbing me from listening to what Dave was saying over the phone.
• "Please repeat that, I didn't get you." I said, going to get myself a drink from my fridge.
• Maude had returned to her place the day before and I already missed her presence a lot.
• "I was asking if we could meet today?"
• "I'd said Wednesday, right? Tomorrow. I have a shoot this afternoon at three. And you're at work."
• "Yeah, but my break is at one thirty. We'll see tomorrow as planned but I wanted to see you for at least an hour thirty minutes, this afternoon. Right before you go for your shoot. What do you say?"
• I chuckled.
• "You want to see me that much, Dave?" I mused and I heard him laugh a little.
• "Yeah. I kinda couldn't stop thinking about you since we met at your apartment's parking."
• My lips twitched to the side in amusement and some sort of satisfaction.
• "Oh really?"
• "Yeah." he chuckled.
• "Fine. I guess we can meet during your break. I'll just leave from there to my shoot site."
• "Perfect. We'll meet at the Starbucks restaurant that is opposite my gallery, so we grab something. I'll send the address."
• "Alright. See you later then."
• "See you later, honey."
• He hung up and I stared at my screen amused.
• 'Did he just call me honey?'
• I shook my head and went to get something to eat.
• *
• Lorenzo's POV:
• I changed channel and put a movie instead. We'd just watched the news.
• "I knew they would link it to the Mexicans and Cubans." I said.
• "Inevitable." Al chuckled.
• Just then, Lea and Dino appeared all dressed up.
• "Where are you two going?" I asked.
• "First to the mall, then restaurant and then we'll go admire Miami beach." Dino replied.
• "Sounds like a date." Al teased and I nodded in agreement and amusement.
• "It is one." Lèaina said before an amused Dino could reply and held his arm.
• "Ooouuu." we cooed and they laughed.
• "Your car keys please, Al." Dino asked and Al threw him the keys, "Thanks."
• "I wonder how Louisa would react to this." Al dared to add.
• "Oh, and how would she know?" he replied and Al and I cooed even louder.
• "I can't with you two." Dino laughed as they headed for the door, "Catch you later."
• "Alright."
• He opened the door for her and she walked out.
• "What a gentleman!" I exclaimed and we laughed.
• "Shut up!" he laughed before closing the door behind him.
• Al and I chuckled.
• "He'll give up on that Louisa soon enough and without even realising it." Al mused.
• "Facts. And Noemi will see to it." I chuckled.
• ~~
• We were still in our apartment when Al who'd been in his room stepped out and threw my car keys at me.
• "What?" I asked.
• "I'm bored. Let's go eat or something. I wanna see the city."
• I was bored as well.
• "Good idea. I'm in quite a good mood this morning and I don't need boredom to ruin it all."
• I stood and saw that he'd already worn his shoes.
• "Lemme go wear mine and grab a jacket as well."
• "Alright."
• *
• Writer's POV:
• The twins drove through the city for a while and finally decided to stop at a restaurant and order food.
• "That place looks nice." Alejandro told Enzo, looking out the window and pointing at a little restaurant that looked chic and peaceful. It even had tables outside and some were already occupied by customers.
• "Let me park the car right and then we cross the street to it."
• "Okay."
• Lorenzo parked the car and they stepped out. They crossed the streets and occupied one of the outdoor tables.
• A waitress immediately attended to them.
• "Welcome. Here's the menu." she smiled and gave each a menu.
• "Thank you." Al replied sweetly but Lorenzo simply shook his head no and refused to take the menu.
• "You're not ordering anything?" Al asked surprised.
• "Nah. I don't think I'm hungry. I'll just have a cold drink please."
• "Okay, Sir. Any preference?" the girl asked.
• "Just bring me anything." Enzo replied lazily and Alejandro was amused. He ordered some food and the waitress left.
• "You're a case, Enzo. You seem even more bored than when we were at the apartment." Alejandro teased his brother.
• "I just don't like people." Lorenzo replied with a little amused smile and his brother laughed.
• "Then why did you come in the first place?"
• "Because I wanted to be with you, dumbass." Lorenzo chuckled and his twin joined him.
• "Aww, how cute."
• "Don't make me take it back." Enzo laughed a little and it made his brother smile like an idiot.
• He loved it when Lorenzo thought less and opened up more with his surroundings like he'd learned to do some years back. Lorenzo was now open with his family and only his family, like the good old times. But this didn't really please Alejandro who wanted his brother to go back to being the college Lorenzo. That Lorenzo stressed less and thought less, but smiled more and laughed more with everyone. Well, with most people. That Lorenzo had gone out of his comfort zone and it'd enabled him to enjoy and discover things he would've never otherwise discovered.

• Their drinks were brought first and they started to enjoy them and discuss while Alejandro waited for his order.
• ~
• A few minutes later, the order was brought and Alejandro thanked the waitress.
• After she was gone and he turned to his food, he realised his brother had pulled everything to his side of the table and was about to grab the huge sandwich in his plate.
• "Lorenzo??" Al called, amused and in wonder. Lorenzo froze in amusement.
• "What?" he asked casually.
• "You said you weren't hungry
• "You said you weren't hungry." Alejandro mused.
• "I said I thought I wasn't hungry. But the smell of this changed my mind and that of my stomach. So, let me." he chuckled and Alejandro watched him raised the big sandwich and bite into it. "Mmm, this is delicious."
• Al sighed and shook his head in amusement. He reached out to grab the bowl of fries but Lorenzo hit his hand.
• "That's mine. Order yours."
• "Oh wow." Alejandro chuckled and had no choice but to call the waitress back and order the same thing again.

• After eating and being quite full, they sat for a few minutes to digest. As they discussed, Al spotted a Starbucks café on the other side of the streets.
• "I love their donuts and cappuccinos." he told Enzo, pointing at the café.
• "Man, aren't you full?" Lorenzo laughed.
• "I am. I was thinking of going to buy some to take back home for later. And we'll get some for Lea and Dino as well."
• "Hmmm, Okay."
• The twins paid for their orders and left.
• They crossed the streets to Starbucks. There were also some tables outside the café and people occupied them. They entered the restaurant and weren't surprised at how full it was. There was even a little line for those who wanted to buy and take their orders back home.
• The twins joined the line.
• *
• Reena stepped out of her car and made her way to Starbucks. She didn't enter the restaurant but took a seat at one of the empty tables outside. A waiter approached her and she ordered a cold drink which was soon brought to her in their famous cups.
• Dave wasn't there yet and so she texted him:
• -Where are you?-
• -Stuck with some very important customers that want to buy some paintings. Five more minutes, please ❤.-
• -Alright.-
• She then went on to text with Maude while she gradually sipped her drink.
• ~~
• Lorenzo led the way towards the exit with Al behind him. They had their plastic bags in hand and everything was fine.
• Lorenzo opened the door and was going to step out when his eyes immediately spotted the chocolate hottie that sat at a distance. He admired her and didn't notice at first when suddenly, she moved her hair from her face and he immediately recognised that profile. His reaction literally scared Alejandro.
• Alejandro had been manipulating his phone while closely following his brother when all of a sudden, Lorenzo stepped back abruptly, hitting him and immediately closing the main door. As if that wasn't enough, Lorenzo rushed out of his way and instead went to stand right behind him as if hiding.
• "What is it??" Alejandro asked in wonder and worry. He even checked the streets to see what or who Lorenzo had seen and if there had danger or something else coming their way. But nothing. This made him worry even more and he turned to his brother who looked disoriented.
• " Enzo, what is it?!" he whispered aloud to his brother who seemed completely lost all of a sudden. He gripped his shoulders and shook him a little, "Lorenzo?!"
• Lorenzo snapped out, blinking several times.
• "Huh?? W– what?"
• "What did you see? What is it?" Alejandro worried.
• Lorenzo rubbed his forehead restlessly and stared at his twin.
• "I don't even know what to tell you." he sighed, "I don't know why I reacted like that."
• "Tell me." Alejandro insisted.
• Lorenzo grabbed his brother's arm and pulled him to a corner and away from the door. They stood at a window and Lorenzo pointed at Reena.
• "Tell me I'm imagining things." he told Al who squinted his eyes to see well. He immediately recognised the texting girl.

• "Reena??" Al gasped with mixed feelings.
• "And it's real." Lorenzo muttered and shook his head, a frown on his face, "What the fuck is she doing here??"
• "That's her!" Al mused, "She looks great."
• "Will you shut the fuck up." Lorenzo said, suddenly very annoyed and his mood ruined. Alejandro looked at him and couldn't help it but be amused and worried for his brother at the same time.
• "You ran away because you saw her? You were hiding from her? Behind me? We look the same." Al dared to ask and tease. He was going to laugh until he saw Lorenzo's deadly stare that immediately drove every bit of amusement Al had.
• "I didn't run or try to hide." Lorenzo frowned.
• "Yeah... Okay." Al's sarcasm and amusement were back.
• "Alejandro, cut it out."
• ~
• While the boys had their little argument, Reena who'd still been waiting had stood up and was going to enter the restaurant and order some food.
• The moment she entered, she spotted the twins by pure coincidence. They did not see her because they were busy talking. Reena froze and her purse dropped.
• "Oh my gawd. Oh my fucking gosh." she gasped as her heart immediately started to palpitate.
• 'Run!'
• She picked her purse and immediately ran out in her heels. She went straight to her car, her body slightly trembling and her chest already burning from all that palpitation, fear and panic.
• 'They're here together! They are here together!'
• "C– calm down, girl. Breathe..." she muttered to herself as with shaky hands she succeeded in putting her keys in and starting the car.
• Literally crashing the speed pedal with her heel, Reena drove the fuck out of that place, her tyres screeching as she sped away, shaken.
• ~
• While talking, the twins noticed she was suddenly gone.
• "It was a bad idea coming here." Lorenzo said, annoyed and giving Al his bag of food, "I'm out."
• Pissed and his mood destroyed, he stormed out and Alejandro rushed behind him.
• They entered their car and Lorenzo immediately started the car.
• "What the fuck is she doing here?" he growled lowly and they sped away. Al didn't even know what to tell him at the moment because anything said wrongly could add fuel to the fire and so he kept his mouth shut. He knew better than to say something odd with Lorenzo in this mood. His brother was very capable of stopping that car in the middle of the street and asking Alejandro to step the fuck out, careless. And so, Alejandro decided to be mute throughout.
• 'Reena looks even better in real. Wow. She's hotter.'
• He thought, hiding his amusement from the volcano driving.
