Chapter 4 Adorable Child

  • He looked like a character from a comic book—a cold, standoffish male lead.
  • The boy beside him had his looks. He was practically a miniature version of the man.
  • Ji Yuxuan looked up at the handsome man.
  • “Daddy, did you give me a younger brother with another woman?”
  • Ji Fuchen frowned. “Where did you hear such things?”
  • “It’s okay if it’s true. You don’t have to hide it from me, Daddy. We can bring my brother back, but not the woman.”
  • At the airport entrance.
  • “Oh my! My precious little Lingrui is becoming more handsome by the day! I missed you so much. Hurry up and give your godmother a kiss.”
  • Wan Sisi brushed aside all the nagging she received from her assistant. She took off her sunglasses and mask before giving the little boy a hug. Then she pursed her lips and kissed his face relentlessly.
  • Min Lingrui gave Min Qing a pleading look.
  • But his mother merely smiled as she watched the interaction between him and his godmother. She showed no intention of saving him.
  • Min Lingrui hung his head low and imagined how he would look with his face covered in red lipstick.
  • Wan Sisi’s lips looked a lot less red after all the kissing. “Did you miss me, my precious boy?”
  • Min Lingrui nodded and responded meekly, “Yes.”
  • Upon hearing that, Wan Sisi beamed.
  • “What a good boy. I’ll carry you all the way home.”
  • Wan Sisi immediately arranged for Min Qing to stay at her place. Since she was often outside filming, she hardly ever returned home.
  • Moreover, the security system of her house was much better than other rented properties.
  • She figured it would be safer for a single mother like Min Qing and little Lingrui to stay there.
  • About an hour later.
  • Yujing Bay, located downtown, was home to many famous directors and A-list actors.
  • The decor in Wan Sisi’s home was relatively simple. It had a huge living room, and the woven carpet was full of all kinds of new toys.
  • “Godmommy, your house is so big!” Min Lingrui’s childish voice sounded.
  • “Do you like it?”
  • “I do.”
  • “You see those toys over there? I took the time to pick them out carefully. They’re all yours.”
  • “Wow... Thank you, Godmommy.”
  • As the little boy happily played with his new toys, Wan Sisi smiled and handed the keys over to Min Qing with an apologetic look. “I wanted to treat you both to a meal, but the advertisers are constantly rushing me. I have to go now.”
  • Wan Sisi was an A-list celebrity. All her movies performed well, and she received many endorsement deals, yet she still took some time off to pick Min Qing up from the airport.
  • Min Qing was beyond grateful. “You’ve done more than enough for me. Thank you, Sisi.”
  • Her heart was filled with warmth. She would remember this friend of hers for life.
  • “Oh, I forgot to mention. I’ve booked you a nice meal at Dorsett Hotel. It’s a large hotel right next to the villa community. Take my godson with you. I made the reservation under your phone number. Just tell them your number when you arrive.”
  • Wan Sisi blew a kiss at Min Lingrui before leaving. “Remember to miss me, my baby!”
  • Min Lingrui remained silent.
  • Dorsett Hotel was R City’s most luxurious hotel.
  • The place didn’t just accept any customer. Guests had to meet three requirements; they had to be socialites and VIPs besides having an advanced reservation.
  • Dorsett Hotel was decorated just like the Palace of Versailles in France. Every woman in R City dreamed of holding their wedding at this magnificent and elegant hotel.
  • “Mom, Dad, this is where Anzhou and I want to have our wedding ceremony.”
  • Min Shan’er glanced sweetly at He Anzhou’s handsome face while holding onto his arm.
  • After so many years, she was finally going to marry him.
  • The old couple was full of smiles, and the four looked like a happy family.
  • “Mommy, Mommy, why aren’t you walking?”
  • The little boy shook his mother’s hand around while staring at the four adults at the front. “Do you know them, Mommy?” he asked in his usual childish voice.
