Chapter 6 Your Parents Are Dead

  • "So sorry sweetie." The woman, who is my aunt says softly... trying to hug me but I shifted politely.
  • "Uhm sorry." She pat my shoulder.
  • "But, what about my dad?" I asked hoping to hear he is alive. "You would need to sit down for this." She breathes out, this doesn't make things look good.
  • I sat down on a couch and she sat down opposite me.
  • "You see my dear. When words got out that you were supposedly having the magic of Arkalis in you, a lot of bad witches and wizard, wanted that for theirselves. And to save you, your mum and dad had to take you far way. They got into an accident, and the whole family thought you also died with them. Up on till this date, we didn't know you have been staying in an orphanage... before leaving, your mother covered your scent, so none of course could use magic to find you. Your mother made it impossible for us to find you, so that no harm could come your way."
  • I felt sad, all my life I have been wishing to reunite with my parents and now, I get to find out that they are dead. They died while trying to keep me safe.
  • "We are so sorry Anastasia. If it's any consolation, your mum and dad loved you so much." She smiled warmly at me, her hand on my shoulder. I shoved her hand off, "I need to get this straight. How come the dragon clan was able to find me, when you and the rest of a lot of other witches and wizard couldn't."
  • She sighed. "We did find you when you were 10 years old, but we wanted to respect your dead parents wishes and leave you be."
  • "What about my wishes huh? What about mine? Did you ever think that I might need a family, did you ever think that maybe I wasn't happy at the orphanage. Gosh, I can't believe you guys." I shake my head disappointedly, throwing my hands up in the air.
  • Without hearing what my *auntie* had to say, or if the *uncle* would open his mouth, I left the sitting room.
  • I didn't know where I was heading to, but I just kept walking in fast pace, when I got out of the house... I began to run in no direction at all.
  • I felt being scooped off the ground, and when I looked up.. it was blue eyes. I laid on his dragon large feets safely and allowed him to take me away.
  • We didn't stay really much on air, cause in no time he was landing on a rock. I looked around, taken in our surroundings. Then I noticed we were surrounded by flowers, really huge beautiful ones, and the rock blue eyes landed on, is just in the middle of it all.
  • "Wow, flowers. Love the atmosphere." I commented, taking in the sweet scent of flowers. I love it.
  • "Well, all thanks to your cousins for doing this." He replied, sniffing out a big gigantic flower.
  • "They, did this?." I asked in shock.
  • "Yup, they sure did."
  • I huffed, sitting down on the rock.
  • "Hey, what's wrong?" He stared at me with those big dragon eyes of his, looking a bit worried.
  • "I just wish they would have come for me, back when I was in the orphanage. Then I wouldn't have gone through a lot of foster homes, I would have people to call family. And as if this isn't enough, both my parents are dead." I paused, wiping away a tear rolling down my cheeks.
  • "Since when I was a child, I have always dreamt of the day I would be re-united with my parents, and now I get to find out that they are dead." I poured out, more unwanted tears streaming down my cheeks.
  • "Hey. I get that you are mad at your aunt and uncle. But could you at least look at things from their point of view. Of course it would have hurt knowing you were out there alone, but if your parents felt you would be safer with them, they would have definitely not take you to an orphanage. I think your family left you there for your own safety. And for the death of your parents, I wish I can say I understand... but I don't, I have never lost a parent. So... all I can say is sorry."
  • I sighed, staring up at the sky. I guess he is right, my parents did take me away so I could be safe, safe from the people who wants my power.
  • I lay down on my back, he did the same... taking an awful big space.
  • "I miss my parents, even though I literally know nothing about her." I sighed sadly.
  • He kept quiet, didn't say a thing.
  • Deciding to change the subject, I said... "How come, I haven't met your mum yet?"
  • "Huh? What?"
  • "Your mum, I haven't met her. And i think it's safe to say, I have practically met every member of your family."
  • "Well my mum went shopping for our trip." He answered simply.
  • "Shopping? For our trip?" I uttered confused.
  • "Yeah, and I wasn't supposed to tell you that. But anyway, if you are going to save the men of my family from this curse, there's a trip we have to make... and my mum is getting the things we need."
  • I sat up, clearly interested. "Where exactly are we going to. What country?"
  • "I can't tell you that. It's a surprise, but here is a clue... it's not a country."
  • "Ugh, that is not a clue." I cried out.
  • "Sorry but I can't say more. We should head back to the house, it's already getting dark. Once it's 6pm, I will be transferred back to my human self." He said getting up. I climbed on his back and then he took off in the sky.
  • "I know is not even an hour close to 6 yet, you just changed the subject. But anyway, I'm going to find out, where is it we are going exactly." I yelled in his ear. He didn't reply. Ugh.
  • **************************************************************************************************
  • Christian's POV:
  • Turning back into my human nature, is what I look forward to everyday. Not that I hate being a dragon, but I love being human more... I love running, I love to simply walk, and mostly.. I love being able to walk in the midst of strangers... without fearing I would be under a needle in seconds.
  • "Is it weird to say, I prefer the dragon you than the human you." Anastasia comments as I stepped out of the portal.
  • When it's almost 6pm, there's a portal we men fly into, to become human again, so we wouldn't be naked in front of the women. The portal leads to a really big open space... the space were created by witches from the year... I think 1970... or so.
  • Talking about Anastasia, she's like the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. Is either because I haven't seen a lot of girls, or is really because she's pretty. Her eyes are so unique, she has three colors in them... a shade of blue, grey and black. And it comes out nicely, giving her pretty structured face a beautiful look.
  • "What? Why are you staring at me that way." She snapped her finger in my face, eyeing me with a questioning look.
  • "Has anyone ever told you... you have the most unique eyes ever?" I questioned.
  • "They don't have to, I have a mirror. But anyway, a lot." She smiled shortly.
  • I nod my head, and then starts walking in the direction of the house... "wait!" She yells from behind me, rushing after me.
  • I turned around...., raised an eyebrow at her, waiting for her to say something.
  • "You said you would love to experience what is like living out there in the city. So... I was thinking of giving you a quick California tour." She kicks the little stones on the ground with her leg, as she waited for my reply.
  • "Uhm, okay. But I think it's a little late for that. Don't you think so?" I asked staring up at the dark sky.
  • "Trust me, California is much more enjoyable at night." She grins stretching forth her hand.
  • "And beside, I can't take you anywhere doing the day time." She added, staring at me pointedly.
  • I looked back at the clan mansion, my father is definitely not going to like it if I leave, since he didn't give me the permission to go out. But whatever.
  • "Okay." I placed a hand on hers, and together we raced to where my car is being parked. Anastasia requested that I let her drive, since she's my *Tour guide* yup, that's what she called it.
  • As she drove towards the city, I couldn't help but think... how I would love this exact scene again... driving freely but in the middle of the day. I can't wait for this whole dragon thing to be over, I really hope... Anastasia could really break the curse.
  • I stared at her intensely, sighed and then stare out the car window.
