Chapter 46
- "I was told it was an ugly thing," Uri informed her, smiling. I wondered who would have had the nerve to tell Uri his beard was ugly.
- A set of seven armored riders, wearing the Swan's blue, rode into the bailey. The lead rider dismounted and removed the helmet, releasing a shower of curly hair the color of summer wheat. She was a tower of a woman, and approached with an attractive smile. She was at least a hand taller than I, and looked confident with the sword strapped to her side. Although it was wiped down, I saw remnants of blood on her armor. She had been in the thick of it.
- "Ah," King Targathian said, "my daughter arrives." Uri's face lit up brightly.
