Upon the announcement that the battle for the throne of alpha of all alphas will be held soon, Colleen must have been the alpha before that happened. Their entire pack becomes busy with the preparation of bestowing the position of Alpha from Alpha Daniel to Colleen.
Because of this, Colleen told Patrick that she would not be able to work at their company today and the following days. Because of training and preparations, it would be better for her to take a leave from mundane work and focus on the nearing battle for the throne. This was one of the reasons why she decided to train and become a great warrior. Now that this day comes, she could not disappoint her pack. She must do her best to win and take over the throne of being Alpha of all Alphas. As she explained all those things towards Patrick, he understood it easily and even cheered her as he believed that she could do it.
