• Patrick felt dismayed as he already knew that Colleen would decline his invitation because he could hear the hesitancy in her mind. It was just his foolishness that he still wished and hoped that this time might be different and he would accept. He knew that she would decline his offer for marriage, so he was willing to take things slow instead. Any reason to keep her close to him would be enough for the moment.

At least in this way we can reward you from saving my parents' life. Please, I'm begging you." Patrick said beggingly out of gratitude and hope for love to return.
