Chapter 8 HTM - Eight

  • Amelia and Bea went home to their house. Marcus was there already waiting for them. Inside, Amelia explained to them what happened to her earlier and why she was with the twin princes. And how she ran away from their pack.
  • “Never do that again, Amelia! You don’t know how much you made us worried!” Marcus said. His face was red already and they could hear a growl coming out of his throat.
  • “I-I’m sorry, Brother. My mind was clouded. I just want to run away from this place.”
  • “But why, Amelia? What did your bullies tell you? I swear I will report them to Alpha Chase now!” Bea exclaimed.
  • “Yes! So what if you’re wolfless? We don’t care! You are my sister and you should be here!”
  • Amelia looked away. She still had yet to tell them about what Nicolai did to her. She was thinking twice because Nicolai would be their next alpha.
  • “Yes. I’m wolfless, brother. Because I am a Lycan. Do you know about this? Was our father a Lycan?” Amelia said. She couldn’t tell Nicolai.
  • Marcus frowned. He sniffed her. “Was it you that we are smelling? Did you shift already?”
  • “No? But she came out last night and heard her in my mind only. My mates are saying that I am a Lycan.”
  • “Is it possible, Marcus?” Bea asked.
  • Marcus shook his head. “No. Our parents are werewolves. It’s impossible that you will come out as a Lycan. We also don’t have an ancestor that was a Lycan.”
  • Amelia smiled bitterly. “Then I am adopted after all.” That must be the reason why she always felt alone. She doesn’t have any family in this pack. She was a rogue but inside a pack.
  • “That's… I’m not sure actually. I was with our father while hunting some rogues. I was away for a year. I went home and said that you are with my mother already. She said you are my sister,” Marcus explained. That was the time, too, when their father died hunting.
  • Amelia had a great feeling that she was adopted. But how? Why would their mother hide it from her? Or her brother? And who were her birth parents? Why did they leave her alone in this pack?
  • “Let’s ask Alpha Chase,” Bea suggested. “He will know it for sure.”
  • Marcus nodded. “Yes. That’s right. If there is someone who knows everything happening to our pack, it was him, our Alpha.”
  • Bea went to Amelia’s side and slightly scrubbed her back with her hand. “It’s okay, Amelia. We don’t care who you are. You’re still my best friend, Amelia. And you are my mate’s sister.”
  • Amelia smiled. Her eyes started to water. “I’m really sorry I ran away.”
  • “Oh… come here!” Bea gave her a hug. “Happy birthday!”
  • Amelia chuckled while crying. A lot had happened to her and she forgot that it was still her birthday today.
  • “Yes, sister. Happy birthday.”
  • “Thank you.”
  • Amelia cleaned herself after talking with her brother and sister. Yes, she thought that it should be right to call Bea her sister now. Since they were already a family. Also, next month, they will be married. She chose to wear her red dress and let her black hair loose. Bea was asking her to go to a human shopping mall to buy a new dress for the appointment of the new alpha. They also have a mall inside their pack village. But it was small and Bea said that there were more beautiful dresses in the human city. That was Bea. She loved beautiful things. And this was the first time that Bea asked her to leave their village.
  • “I should tell my mates first that we are going,” Amelia told Bea. They were already in the living room and ready to go out of the house.
  • Bea was wearing a black flowery dress. Her hair was tied up and she was wearing make-up too. “It’s okay. Your brother is with them. He will tell the princes.”
  • Amelia nodded. “Okay.”
  • “Hmm… Did they mark you already?”
  • “Yes. Earlier.”
  • Bea’s eyes widened. She went to Amelia’s side and clung to her arms. “I’m so happy for you, Amelia! For sure, everyone would be jealous of you!”
  • Amelia chuckled. “I don’t care, Bea. I’m just happy now that, finally, I felt someone needed them. Though, I did not expect them to be twins.” They walked outside. “Have you heard of any wolf having two mates?”
  • “Well, based on school, yes. There are some wolves or Lycans that could have more than one mate. But it is a really rare occasion. Unless they are twins like your mates.”
  • Amelia was silenced. “Oh, yes. I forgot.”
  • They had a subject in school about Lycanthropy. They talk there about all the wolves and Lycans. They even learned from it that there were Lycans and wolves who had powers. She almost forgot about it because she was shocked it had been earlier.
  • ‘I miss our mates, Amelia. We should go to them instead,’ Lily said.
  • ‘They are busy, Lily. Let’s enjoy our time with Bea first. Later, I will ask them to help me shift so you could run,’ she explained to her beast. Lily then howled in agreement.
  • Amelia smiled and they continued walking. She was telling her about what she saw in the human city. Bea kept on laughing at her but in a funny way. Amelia also couldn’t help but laugh, remembering that the door she saw was called an elevator. How innocent could she be? But their happiness stopped when they finally reached the small terminal in their village. Using the bus that is owned by their pack too, will send them to the human city. Vera and her friends were there too.
  • “Well. Well. Are you going to the human city because you finally realized that you belong there?” Vera mocked Amelia. Then her friends laughed.
  • Amelia heard Lily growl. ‘If I come out, I will take her out first!’
  • “What do you want, Vera?” Bea said. “Are you bored again?”
  • Vera glared at Bea. “Shut up! Why are you always taking her side? She was a nobody!”
  • Bea opened her mouth but Amelia held her arms. “It’s okay,” she whispered. “I am just accompanying Bea, Vera. Just let us go.”
  • Vera smirked. “You have guts now?” Vera stepped forward to Amelia. Her friends took Bea and held her arms.
  • “What are you doing?! Let me go!” Bea said.
  • Vera suddenly held Amelia’s neck and pinned her to the side of the bus. Amelia struggled. But because she hadn’t shifted yet, she was still weak and couldn’t do anything to Vera. Bea kept on shouting too.
  • “You don’t get to talk in this pack, weakling!”
  • Amelia tried to remove her hand. She could feel Vera’s nails slowly piercing her skin. It was also making her breathe hard and slowly, her vision went blurry. But she saw a familiar figure behind Vera.
  • “What is going on here?”
