Chapter 7 HTM - Seven
- The twins were silent as they were riding the car getting to their pack. Amelia kept on praying to the Moon Goddess that these two wouldn’t do anything when they arrived. She could see how it angered them to hear what they had just said. Grey was driving and Blue was in the passenger seat. Amelia was on her back, looking down and thinking about what she should do.
- ‘I should’ve told them about it,’ Amelia said.
- ‘Why not? Now, that Alpha's ex-mate of ours will know the consequences of what he did to you.’
- ‘But, Lily. You know the reason why he did that. And I understand it, I am wolfless.’
- Lily groaned. ‘Because I am not a wolf!’
- ‘I know. But I should tell them about it.’
- ‘Fine.’
- Amelia cleared her throat. “Ahm. Blue. Grey. What are you doing with our pack?”
- Blue looked at Amelia from the rear-view mirror. “We were supposed to check out your pack and attend the appointment of your new alpha. But it looks like your new alpha was not capable.”
- “What do you mean?”
- “We will not let him be an alpha. He doesn’t deserve it,” Grey answered.
- Amelia’s mouth opened. She held onto the chair and looked at them. “What? This is not because of me, right?”
- “It is, my love,” Blue smiled at her and caressed her cheek. Then his eyes became serious again.
- “Please. It’s not what you think. N-Nicolai is supposed to be the next alpha of our pack. He cannot have a Luna that is weak like me.” Amelia gasped. She almost fell out of her chair when Grey stopped the car. “Hey!” she exclaimed.
- “Are you okay?” Blue asked worriedly. “What are you doing, Grey? You’ll hurt her!”
- Grey looked at Amelia. “You are not weak, Amelia!” he roared.
- “O-Oh… But I was wolfless. Yeah! I know I am a Lycan. But everyone thought I was wolfless. Even me. So…”
- “So you mean they are not treating you well in that pack?” Grey asked.
- Amelia couldn’t answer him because it was true. She was lucky that they did not make her a slave. But it was the same thing because even her own brother had not talked with her for years.
- “That pack will really learn hard!” Grey said and started the car again.
- “P-Please. I-I understand that you two are being protective of me. I don’t want any trouble.”
- Blue sighed. “Yeah. We should hear her out, brother.”
- “But she is our mate! Their next queen!”
- “No one knows that I was one before,” Amelia said.
- That was when Grey softened. She was right. They don't even know her true identity and the reason why her packmates were like that to her.
- “Fine. But what happened? What did you do?”
- “You can tell us, love. Don’t worry,” Blue affirmed.
- Amelia felt a bit relieved but she was still worried. Thought they were right. They'd understand her more if she told them everything.
- “I was ten when my mother died. She saved me from the rogues. Everyone was blaming me because of it.” Amelia’s voice began to crack as she remembered her mother. “T-Then when I was supposed to shift, my wolf never came out. That’s when everyone said I was weak. The blames became frequent and no one wanted to be with me except my best friend. I understand Nicolai, as an alpha, he needs a strong Luna to help him with our pack. And I was not the kind of luna he needed.”
- Blue shook his head. “He will regret that he rejected you. Now, you are ours. He can never get you back. Unless he wanted to die.”
- “So, you never shifted? Even in your Lycan form?”
- Amelia nodded at Grey. “Yes. I don’t know how. And I am confused. My mother was a wolf and my brother was. Was it possible?”
- Grey frowned and looked at Blue. Then he looked in front again. “How about your father?”
- “Wolf too. But he died before I even had consciousness in the world.”
- “You might be adopted,” said Blue.
- “Am I?” Amelia exclaimed.
- “You can never be a Lycan if your parents are wolves.”
- “We will ask your Alpha when we reach there,” Grey answered.
- Amelia was silent. Her mother loved her very much when she was alive. Though she remembered that she always said that there were some questions that would not have answers yet. But soon it will be answered at the right time by the right people. Those lines always felt mysterious to her. She suddenly felt sad. She was already alone even if she didn't know what she really was.
- ‘It’s okay, Amelia. I’m here. Our mates are here for us too. We are not alone anymore,’ Lily said.
- ‘Yeah. That’s more important. But it will be great to know about my identity.’
- ‘Ask them instead if they could help you shift.’
- “Ahm. Can you two help me shift?”
- Blue looked at Amelia. “Of course. We will do it later.” He winked at Amelia and it made her blush.
- “T-Thank you.” Amelia looked out of the window. They were near their pack village. “You wouldn’t punish my pack, right?”
- Grey let out a deep breath. “I can’t promise.”
- “Please,” Amelia begged, and looked at Grey from the rear-view mirror. She saw that his eyes softened.
- “Okay. But he should still learn his lessons.”
- Amelia smiled. “Thank you!” she said happily. At least she was assured that there would be no violence and such. She couldn’t afford it even though Nicolai hurt her.
- The car stopped in the parking lot of their village. Blue opened the door for her and she went out. She saw that Grey was already holding her bag for her. She wanted to get it but Grey didn’t let her. They were now walking on the side street. Amelia was in the middle of the twins. She felt weird because they were like guarding her against danger. There was no danger in their pack except for the glaring of her packmates. But when they saw the twin's faces, they immediately bowed their heads.
- “Amelia!”
- Amelia heard a voice from afar. She saw Bea running to them and the twins immediately covered her.
- “Who are you?”
- “What do you need from her?!”
- Bea stopped and stared at them in confusion. She was ready to fight when she realized who the men in front of her were. Her eyes widened and bowed her head. “Oh, princes! I am sorry! H-Her… Amelia is my friend!”
- Amelia cleared her throat. “That’s right. Please. It’s okay.” The twins looked at her. Then they stepped to the side to let Bea go to Amelia.
- “I’m sorry. We thought she was after you,” Blue explained.
- Bea immediately went to Amelia and slightly pulled her. “What was that? Where have you been? We’ve been looking for you!”
- “I-It’s a long story, Bea. Thank you.”
- Grey harrumphed. “Will you be okay if we leave you to her now?”
- Amelia looked at them. “Yes. Of course.” She smiled. “You can do your affairs first.”
- The twins nodded. Then they looked at Bea. “Please take care of our mate,” Grey said.
- Bea’s eyes widened. She nodded in confusion. “Y-Yes, my prince.”
- “We will see you later.” Blue stared at Amelia.
- Amelia took her bag from Grey, then the two went their way.
- “What was that?! You are mated with princes?!” Bea exclaimed.
- Amelia immediately covered her mouth. “Ssh! Let’s go home. I will explain it to you there.”
