Chapter 69 - A Visit To 'The' Club

  • I tried to take the knife in my hand, but it was far from my reach, and I was unable to move my hand. I can feel the pain building up in my shoulder and ribs, but I can't see the person in front of me as my vision is blurry because of tears.
  • Suddenly everything became silent, and a sudden familiar feeling of belonging with someone rushed into me. I can't help but feel hurt and betrayed. Using my left hand, I took my gun from my calf and wiped the tears from my eyes. When I looked at them, Lily was behind Ryan, and she was still on the floor while Ryan was looking as if he had seen a ghost. His mouth is open, and his eyes are wide open. He took a step toward me, and I pointed my gun at him. His eyes bore into mine, and I could see many emotions in his eyes, like surprise, regret, and guilt, but the most prominent one was fear.
  • I tried to get up, but as soon as I moved, pain shot up in my arm and torso. I bit my lip to stop myself from screaming in pain. He took a step toward me in concern, but I gave him a deathly glare, and he stopped in his place and took his steps back. We were busy in our glaring competition when the door opened, and gramma and Ben entered the house while laughing, but as soon as they saw us, they fell to their knees and bared their necks towards me.
