Chapter 6 Nightmares

  • "And why are you laughing?' Lee inquired, raising an eyebrow.
  • "Don't worry about it,' Russell said, trying hard not to laugh. He couldn't possibly tell Lee what Stormi had just said. Stormi fled because she knew Lee would scold her if she stayed, and she didn't want to be running away from him.
  • "Huh?' he inquired.
  • "I mean, nothing is happening. Besides, it's getting late,' Russell said as he stood up.
  • He was tired from all of the play and work he had done today, so he yawned and fell asleep.
  • "I'm going to bed,' Russell announced.
  • "All right, good night.' Lee then walked away. Russell walked quietly to his room, not wanting to wake his parents, who were already fast asleep. He jumped on his bed after quietly opening and closing the door. He was exhausted and quickly fell asleep.
  • All of a sudden, blood was all over the place, the air was filled with cries for help, and then he saw a man with white long hair, blue eyes, and long fangs. When he opened his mouth, his teeth grew longer and his eyes turned red. He saw the same man tearing people apart and yanking their hands off. Russell became terrified, began shaking, and vomited at the same time. When he looked up, the person began transforming into an animal. Russell got up and started running and then he noticed his leg entered something and when he looked down, his leg was inside a person's brain and the skull splashed blood on his face and dread ran down his spine and then he looked around and dead bodies around and a lot of big wolves surrounded him. He was shaking and then he looked at his hand and skin turned hairy and his fingers brought fangs. Russell screamed and screamed and jumped out of the bed. His parents, Russell and stormi ran to his room panicking.
  • "What's the matter, son,' his father asked and touched his forehead with his hand.
  • "Father,' that's the only word that could come out of his mouth. He was shaking terribly, he had never had that kind of dream before and it was so scary. Russell was relieved that what he saw was a dream. He looked up and hugged his father tightly and then he started crying. His father patted his back and consoled him. Telling him that everything was going to be okay. He kept crying and terrified. He knew he was behaving like a baby, but he could help it. The dream he had didn't seem ordinary to him and he was glad that his parents were here with him.
  • "Did you have a nightmare,' Lee asked and patted his head. Russell nodded and still kept hugging his father.
  • "Was it scary.' His father asked.
  • "Yes, it was,' Russell said and raised up his head and stared at his father.
  • "Are you okay and why are you crying bro.' Stormi asked and stroked his cheek. Russell shook his head, and said. "I'm not crying and I'm getting better now, Stormi.' He faked a smile. His father understood what he was trying to do and told everyone to go outside for a bit. When everyone has left already.
  • "Tell me, what is wrong and why are you so worried, was the dream you had that terrifying,' his father asked concerned.
  • "Father, it was so scary and everywhere was filled with blood. I've never had that kind of dream before,' Russell said and he was still shaking and just the thought of remembering the dream was making Russell scared and want to vomit. How could he do this and this dream was scarier than the others he used to have.
  • "Calm down, Russell. It's just a dream, you need to forget about it?' His father said.
  • "But, father, this is more than a dream. It's been years now and I hear voices everywhere and in my heart,' he touched his chest, with his hand. "I could feel this pain in my heart and it's like, it's calling out to me. Father, what does this mean, I keep hearing voices and sometimes my hair turns white and…' His father quickly covered his mouth with his hand and shook his head to keep quiet. Russell just kept looking at him. Richard knew that this son of his that he had adopted years ago was not his biological son, but he took him as his own son. The day he brought him inside his house, things began to turn bad for his family, he already had two sons and Lee was the only one who survived and his business began to crumble out of nowhere and it was a disaster. The reason he wanted to adopt a baby was because his wife wouldn't be able to give birth again and that was according to the doctor, but his wife wanted more kids and so they both decided to adopt another one. Things began to go bad and Lee's brother died. Because he fell down from the staircase and broke his neck. They were both terrified and wanted to know the reason why all these things were happening to them.
  • Then, his wife called Irene was scared and quickly thought that maybe the reason these things were happening to them was because the baby they adopted was a bad omen to the family.
  • Richard didn't want to believe that was the reason for their misfortune. But, on second thought, his wife was correct, and he went to the baby's room one night and stared at it before carrying it up to the window. The baby was such a beautiful thing, and then the baby started crying, and the winds began to blow faster and faster around the entire place, and the items in the house began to shake. Vases were shattering, plates were shattered, and the lights were flickering on and off. Richard said as he stared at the baby. "Who are you and where are you from?" He stared at the baby and his eyes turned green. He wanted to push the baby away from him, but he smiled at him and he was so cute. Richard realized at that moment that this child was not normal, but he kept it to himself. The building continued to shake, and his wife and Lee ran out, yelling for Richard to come out of the house as well.
  • The baby continued to smile and his eyes went back to normal. Suddenly, a little blue shiny ball called the crescent moon. Started moving up in the air around Richard and Russell and everything stopped shaking and everywhere was once quiet again.
