• April exhaled, smacking her head against the table. The investigation was going nowhere considering the death of two of the main witnesses that had been apprehended. It was insane, they were perfectly fine just the day before, then it was pandemonium everywhere once their lifeless body was discovered. They had been Poisoned to death under their watch. The people in charge were under investigation, it was suspicious, but April was not surprised. She knew who was behind it, it was either Gabrielle or her grandfather. The system was fucking corrupted, how could they get poisoned while in detention, under two very competent investigators. With all the problems cropping up, she was certain they wouldn't even prioritize Blake's disappearance, like her supervisor said, a missing undercover cop was likely dead.

Massimo also seemed to have disappeared off the radar but their business was very much alive, there'd been more racketeering, more shooting incidents, more dead bodies cropping up in the neighborhood, they were shop owners, but April knew that they had failed to pay up their quota to the mafioso, hence why they received a visit from the hitman.
