Chapter 31
- Massimo's POV
- Being in charge was easier said than done, but Gabrielle suddenly disappearing into thin air was more worrying than taking over and trying to convince douchebags of how competent I was. We lost some clients but I planned to get them back by all means necessary. I've had to kill my fair share of people in this line of business, so it didn't faze me to add more to the number. The others that continued working were all because they were scared of Genovese. I had to harness that fear for myself, I was in charge now, I needed to wield all the power. A kind word and a gun went a long way, but I planned to be ruthless just like I was in my hometown. I'd already recruited new loyal soldiers. I didn't trust anyone who had worked with Gabrielle in time past.
- Luca had been whining about getting killed by Gabrielle ever since he found out the last man confessed, implicating him. He was surprised that someone like him was terrified of the silver-haired firecrackers. It was strange tho, Gabrielle took care of all traitors immediately she found out about it, but Luca was still breathing. It was eerie, it was like she was keeping him for a purpose. If I didn't have business with Luca, I would avoid the little snake. But he was one of our major drug suppliers, I planned to take over his territory tho. The old fool was getting too small for his pants.
