Chapter 29 Inheritance

• They make their way towards the French doors at the very back of the mansion that leads out to the back yard where her mother's garden is still well maintained. Despite Eve being an assassin, she was gentle towards her children and her garden. She had a love for all things that grow, perhaps because of her guilty conscious.
• Mark pulls the chair out for her, surreptitiously watching Michelle all the while out of the corner of his eye. He's still recovering from frying his brain cells. He always prides himself on being super professional in his work, and not being able to recognize his boss is mortifying. He hasn't spoken a word to her yet, because he doesn't have the emotional strength right now after making a fool of himself.
• In his defence, he didn't expect her to be so... young, younger than he'd assumed and ethereally beautiful and so small, but something about her big blue eyes tells him a different story. They are much worldlier, hard and sharply intelligent. They tell him she's not one to be trifled with.
