Chapter 9

• Yesterday night, I cried myself to sleep after Mira's body was taken away for burial somewhere I don't know. The idea of escaping has automatically gone to ruin because I don't have the energy to do that anymore. I'm so mad to see that Mira's death did not interrupt any activity in the estate, it's as if some useless chicken has suddenly died with a bird flu. The only people that evidently seemed devastated by Mira's death are my fellow roommates; Yun-hee and Areum who were at work during the time it happened.
• I've shared the tragic story with them; how I met Mira's dead body tucked underneath the blanket. How her skin felt so cold to the touch and how I screamed after I saw the pills that were spilling out on the bedside. Though there's one important thing I've kept away from everyone's; it's Mira's suicide letter. I haven't showed it to anyone because I'm afraid the men might take it away from me. And I want to keep it for the future when I'm out of this place. I will personally make sure to find her Father and give him the letter if I ever happen to make it out of this place. Alive and healthy.
• Mira addressed the content of her letter to her Father Mr Kang Jung Ho and she pleaded to whoever find the letter first to do her a favor and make sure the message get to her Family. Despite the fact that her Father was an irresponsible man who allowed a loanshark to sell off his daughter, Mira said she missed him, she was sorry and she would try to find happiness and won't be a coward in the afterlife. She said he must take care of his health and quit gambling.
