Chapter 9 I Have Hypoglycemia

  • But Sofia and I were wrong. The line was moving very fast and just as a crowd of girls entered the castle gardens, many others left as quickly as they entered. Some went out alone, some in pairs, some in small groups. There were those who left in tears and also those who did not lose their composure. In the end, I didn't know if everyone there really had the same goal. I began to realize that the eliminated ones were wearing make-up, even if some were wearing the bare minimum. Luckily I left my concealer where it was. Better to pass at least the first phase. As the line moved, I talked to the other girls and although none that left confirmed it, we all thought that clothes that were too short or too tight, as well as makeup and dye were eliminated one by one. Soon we were close to the gate and although it was fast, it was already past noon. I only realized because my stomach growled with hunger. Good thing I took the bread in the morning, or it would have fallen by now. I had hypoglycemia, a disease caused by low blood sugar. That's why I always had a glass of sugared milk in the morning. I could even go some period without eating, but not for long. I was a little worried about the pace at which the line was moving. I had nothing in my purse and no money except for the return ticket. Passing out when my turn came wasn't in the plans. I took a deep breath and tried to move on. But after the large number of girls dismissed, it started to take longer. Some women wearing a skirt and a social blazer, with the royal family's coat of arms, went from girl to girl in line, eliminating those who had not followed the rules of the letter received at their homes. Our new talkative friend, who was there just to see the prince, was out and wouldn't even see him.
  • - I'm getting nervous. – Sofia said – What will be the next form of elimination?
  • - I think whoever lasts the longest without eating. - I spoke.
