Chapter 58 Strawberry Ice Cream

• Kim left and I was left alone with my own thoughts. I looked outside and saw that the day was almost dawn. It had been a rough night. And I was alive... And well. And that did have a purpose. The shot could have caught my head or even my heart. Then I wouldn't be there anymore. However, I had the blood running in my veins and I was still inside Noriah's castle, now with so many perks that I never imagined having one day. I tried to assimilate and understand what had happened in the last few hours, especially between Dom and Magnus. But I just couldn't, because I had a thousand theories in my head. Magnus wouldn't be jealous of me with Dom… He barely knew me. Yet he had tried to kiss me inside the hunting lodge, when perhaps he had thought I might die. Why that kiss? What is his intention with that? A momentary wish? A repressed desire? I would never know. I hadn't even responded. It had been a simple touch of lips. And would it happen again? There was no way of knowing... Only time would tell. But I'd be cynical if I didn't confess to myself wanting a kiss from the crown prince. But still when I thought of desire, it was Dom I felt and his skin as hot as his kiss, making me feel every little piece of my body I didn't even know, immensely alive. Was it possible to have feelings for two men at the same time without knowing exactly what it was like for each of them?
• I understood Kim and her concern for me and my family. Of course I was also afraid of the queen and all the danger I was in there. But I knew it would do no good to run away like a cornered animal. She would find me and eat me for breakfast. I knew I could be her main course…but it wouldn't be breakfast. If Queen Anne Marie wanted me, it would be at dinner. And until night came, I would fight.
