Chapter 5

  • Lorenzo shook his head as he sat in the rear seat of the sleek car. What the hell was he doing again?
  • Turning his head to look out the window he brought out a stick and lit it as he looked at the colorful streets of the submerged city itself.
  • "Sir, you should not light that, especially with the windows up." Dolan, his driver said with a firm, respectful tone.
  • “You’re saying that like you’re the boss here.”
  • Lorenzo did not say more, but had the windows lowered instead. And then with that, he lift his hand towards the window and placed it on it; just letting the smoke from the lit stick flow into the wind.
  • "Where to, sir?" Dolan's voice came up again. Lorenzo grunted.
  • "The Piccolo Mono Disco."
  • “Again, sir? We went there yesterday. Would you not prefer a change?” Dolan asked and Lorenzo said nothing, and then he turned his head to the side as Dolan started to play something with a smooth jazz tune.
  • Antonio had had an earful from Lorenzoick about three nights ago when he had called to rant about his own experience with one of the new girls at the place. About Lilac.
  • “Is it a woman that has you this bothered, buddy?” Antonio had asked, an amused tone seeping into his words.
  • “I am not bothered. I only called you to rate and tell you about my experience there since you asked me to go again.” Lorenzo said.
  • “Experience?” Antonio guffawed. “You did not even get laid, did you? And you’re calling that experience?” He laughed again, making Lorenzo burn with embarrassment.
  • When had he mentioned that to Antonio again?
  • “That is not the point!”
  • “So what is—” A feminine voice interrupted Antonio.
  • “Tonio baby, are you coming back to me?”
  • “Oh shit.” There was a shuffling sound and Antonio shouted. “I’d be back, sexy, I’m talking to someone who needs my help financially.”
  • Lorenzo facepalmed himself. The idiot must have thought that he had blocked out the speaker with his hand, but was only covering the camera.
  • “Lorenzo, are you there buddy?”
  • “Yes and I need your help financially.”
  • “You weren’t supposed to hear that, ha.” Antonio sounded amused. “So about this girl...”
  • “Sir.” Dolan’s voice interrupted Lorenzo’s thoughts. Lorenzo narrowed his eyes at him.
  • “We are here sir.” Dolan stepped out of the vehicle and opened Lorenzo’s side, bowing in respect as he came out.
  • “Thank you, Dolan.”
  • Lorenzo walked into the high rise building, aware of the eyes resting on his person but not giving a fuck about them. He turns to Dolan who does not follow him inside.
  • “You are not coming in?”
  • “No, thank you sir. I think I’d just stay out here instead.” Dolan said, his hands in his pants pocket, frame straight.
  • “Suit yourself.” Lorenzo said and walked further in.
  • -
  • The club was filled, as it always was, and men in expensive suits had drinks with beautiful faces that owned huge breasts. The other part had people with ridiculously large dark shades and clothes with brand names written all over them. Low quality clothes that they must have bought for a ridiculously large amount.
  • Lorenzo’s eyes scanned over the dancers as they swayed their bodies seductively and as usual, the crowd of people trying to cop a feel of any female or male out dancer or waiter that they could find. Making his way to the spot at the top that overlooked the entire place, he tried to seek her out with his eyes.
  • “What would you like tonight, sir?” Lorenzo turned to see a woman in a high crop top t-shirt that revealed part of her breasts and tiny short shorts covering half her ass with attached rabbit ears on her hair.
  • “What?” He asked her.
  • “I said, would you like anything, sir?” She batted her lashes. “I’m also on the menu.”
  • Lorenzo ignored her last statement. “Get me some red wine.”
  • “Anything on the side?” She purred out.
  • “Go get what I asked you for.” He said in an intimidating voice and the waitress girl walked away.
  • “Where is Lilac?” Lorenzo asked, realizing that he had said it out loud seconds after. He looked at the dancers.
  • Yellow, green, blue.
  • That was all. Where was she? Was she not going to appear tonight?
  • “Your drink, sir.” The waitress returned and stressed her words with a wink.
  • Lorenzo took a seat and took the glass she had poured into, grabbing her by the waist since she lingered longer. The waitress giggled in response.
  • He dropped his drink and held one of her hands. “Dirty hands.” He sneered.
  • “You like dirty hands boy.” She said and snickered. Lorenzo let go of her hands and downed his glass.
  • “Don’t call me that.” He said and walked away from the confused looking waitress.
  • Lorenzo made his way down and the guards allowed him to pass through, already knowing who he was there. Lorenzo stopped at the door and asked the guards there.
  • “Is Miss Lucy in?”
  • “Yes, Mr Salvatore. She is not engaged at the moment so—”
  • “Thank you.” Lorenzo said and let himself in. He found Miss Lucy sitting with her legs propped up on the table and her head hung back.
  • “Miss Lucy.”
  • “Mr Salvatore.” She sighed and raised her head. “You’re here again? How surprising.”
  • “Is it?” Lorenzo sat down. “Knowing you for the witch you are, you must have foreseen my visit.”
  • “Yes. Call me the Oracle of Delphi.” She smirked smugly. “I already know but I want to hear from you what you came here for.”
  • “I want the girl. The dancer.”
  • “The dancer? I have lots. Which of them particularly?” She rapped her fingers against the table.
  • “You know that I’m talking about Lilac.” Lorenzo’s voice was steady and calm.
  • “Oh her? She does not have a shift today. Why do you specifically want to see her, though?”
  • Silence.
  • “You think she’s more than attractive, don’t you? Lilac has that kind of effect on people. Men especially.” Her voice dropped an octave.
  • “I’d have to be on my way.” Lorenzo started to stand up. “Goodbye.”
  • “Going already? Because you didn’t meet Lilac?”
  • Lorenzo stood tall and narrowed his eyes at her. “What exactly are you trying to imply?”
  • “That one of my girls have you on hold and it’s so bad that for the first time in a long time, you visited for the second time in a week.” She looked up at his face. His mouth was set in a straight line.
  • “Lilac has an attractive body, so yes. I might have come to have her for a while again, but you are just being dramatic now.”
  • “Okay, go macho and cover up.” Miss Lucy pursued her blood red lips. “Might as well go out screaming her name.”
  • “What you don’t get, Sarah, is that a piece of ass is always just a piece of ass at the end of the day.” Lorenzo brought out a checque and wrote on it.
  • “Give me someone, with a beautiful body. Preferably someone who doesn’t cover her face and you’re sure is clean.” He handed the check to her.
