Chapter 41

It had been three days since Chlöe last saw or heard from Lorenzo. Unexpectedly, her everyday life had become much more boring. Over the last three days, it had been her trying to get information about him from Dolan and Antonio had been futile. It had been solely for Antonio that he hadn’t noticed all the late-night stalling Chlöe did just so she could ask him about the whereabouts of his friend, or perhaps he was doing it intentionally?
Altogether, Antonio had also stopped ordering coffee from her. Whenever she went to deliver coffee to him, he’d dismiss her stating one excuse or the other. Which made me think if she did something wrong. It wasn’t a coincidence that Lorenzo, Antonio, and Dolan turned distant over the night. She thought back to the day when she had accompanied Lorenzo to the orphanage. After going over the day’s occurrence countless times, she still couldn’t spot an offense from his side, or was it because she didn’t invite him to her apartment?
“You look distressed. What is the matter?” Amanda asked Chlöe who had a deep frown plastered on her face. “Is everything okay with you?”
