Chapter 27

  • The same place that offered solace to Chlöe over the night had begun to haunt her peace and the music that had calmed her so much felt like an awful onslaught to her ears.
  • Everything about the place infuriated her all of a sudden and she didn't know why. Or maybe she did. It was barely twenty four hours ago she kicked her legs and swayed her hips to the rhythm of the bass that was going off the speakers but suddenly— suddenly everything changed and Chlöe didn’t know why.
  • Her time on the stage finished about thirty minutes ago, and she had just finished removing the makeup she had from her face, after changing from her strip costumes to a washed sky blue ripped jeans, a black hoodie, and Adidas slides. She was getting ready to go home and rest on her small but comfy bed when Little Miss Bittersweet walked into her personal dressing room and announce to her that someone booked for a private section with her for the next day, saying it was mandatory and she couldn’t opt out even if the scheduled day was supposed to be her day off.
