Chapter 2 From Best Friends To Mortal Foes

  • “Mi hija,” the old woman wept, tears streaming down her face. “Mi hija, mi hija!” She wept even more, and when her tears and cries became too much, she suddenly turned to face Damian.
  • “Asesino! (murderer),” she screamed at him, her voice hoarse with anger. “Asesino! Asesino!...” She screamed even more, causing Damian to panic.
  • “No, no, no,” Damian tried to explain, though he didn't understand what she was saying, but he knew it couldn't be something good. His voice was trembling with fear.
  • He watched in horror as she brought out a small knife from her cloth with her eyes reflecting her great anger.
  • “Please put that away. I didn't do anything to her. This is a big mistake... My God...” he explained, backing away gradually, his voice shaking with terror. But then he was shocked as the old woman used the knife on herself. She slit open her right wrist, and blood flowed from it down to the sandy floor.
  • “Vida, Sangre, Luna. Vida, Sangre, Luna. Vida, Sangre, Luna...” the old woman started chanting, her voice trembling with emotion.
  • Damian didn't know what she was saying at first, but then he remembered what one of the native girls had told him and his friends.
  • Life, blood, and moon. he recalled.
  • She was praying to their gods, the moon god. Then it struck him- she was sacrificing herself to the gods!
  • She continued with her chants, but then she started adding some strange words to it that Damian couldn't understand.
  • “Vida, Sangre, Luna. Te maldigo por la eternidad. Caminar por la tierra. Solo en la cara de la luna. Sin saber nada más que sangre.”
  • As soon as she said the last word, she slit her own throat with the knife, and she fell on top of the corpse of her daughter... dead.
  • “Noooooo!” Damian screamed in shock, his voice cracking with emotion.
  • And immediately after she took her life, the whole place became very windy, and a rain cloud started forming up in the sky, bringing loud, violent thunder and lightning with it. The heavy wind blew open the whole tent... Then suddenly, Eric Damian started to feel immense pain in his head like a strong migraine, and a sharp pain in his heart. Like he was being stabbed in his chest.
  • "Ahhhhhhhhhhh!" He screamed out in pain, holding onto his head and chest.
  • The pain was so sharp and painful that he soon lost consciousness, falling to the ground like an uprooted tree...
  • Some distance away, the festival was still taking place, despite the change of weather. Damian's two friends were having too much fun with the local girls to notice that their friend Damian had gone missing...
  • After a long time, Eric finally regained consciousness. Picking himself up slowly from the ground, he wondered what had just happened to him. The pain had gone; he no longer felt any pain in his head or heart... in fact, he didn't feel any pain whatsoever. He felt great... reborn!
  • He discovered his senses were suddenly 100 times better than before. He could now see clearly in the dark, his nose was picking up the scent and smell of things miles away, and his skin had become smooth and pale, almost pure white. The color of his eyes was clear blue like crystal but they kept changing, sometimes to reddish-brown and yellowish-black, as the case may be.
  • He turned around to look at the two dead bodies - the old woman's body laying on top of the girl's body. Damian felt great sorrow and pity. Mother and daughter, dead on the same day, and he couldn't help but feel responsible for that. He made an attempt to lift the dead woman off the girl's body, using the amount of force he thought would be necessary, but he found the woman weightless - way too light, like her body was made out of feathers. Had she suddenly become weightless, or had he become way too strong? He contemplated but just then, like a great headache, he felt a strong and uncontrollable urge to feed. But his hunger was not for normal food, no! It was for something different - he had a great hunger for human blood and flesh.
  • Instinctively, his nose picked up the scent of human blood from the crowd of people having a festive time some distance away, and by this time, Damian had lost control of himself. He had only one thought in his head: blood, blood, and more blood!
  • At lightning speed, Eric emerged from the forest into the open plain where the festival was taking place. He was welcomed by one of the local girls who seemed to like him. She came flirting with him in hopes they would have some fun together, but she wasn't expecting what happened next.
  • As she wrapped her arms around his neck, biting her lower lip seductively, Damian had his eyes, which were now glowing reddish-brown, fixed on the veins of her neck. It was like they were calling his name.
  • "Feed on me!"
  • "Have a bite!"
  • He could feel his four canine teeth extending from inside his mouth until they became long, sharp fangs.
  • As he opened his mouth, he felt a sudden sharp pain as his four canine teeth grew and extended, transforming into long, sharp fangs.
  • "Ahhhhhhhh!" The woman screamed in agony as Damian sank his fangs deep into her neck, draining the life out of her body. His eyes, once reddish-brown, turned a dark shade of red.
  • He dropped her lifeless body to the ground and moved onto his next victim - a man who was attempting to impress a group of women by lifting heavy objects. Damian effortlessly grabbed the man by the back of his head and flung him into the sky. As the man fell back down to the ground, barely alive, Damian approached him, growling. With a quick bite and a suck, Damian drained the man's life force.
  • "Ahhhhhhhhh!" The women screamed and fled as Damian chased after them, one by one, until they were all drained of life.
  • As Damian continued his killing spree, chaos and panic erupted throughout the festival location and the town.
  • "Monster!"
  • "Devil!"
  • "Death!"
  • The people yelled as they ran for their lives.
  • Damian's thirst for blood was insatiable, and he continued to kill indiscriminately, leaving a trail of dead bodies in his wake.
  • Christopher and Briana, Damian's two friends, were on the run, unaware that the monster killing people was actually their friend. They only realized the truth when they saw him sucking the blood of his latest victim, completely covered in bloodstains, with eyes that looked like that of a killer - yellowish-black.
  • “Oh my God, Eric! What happened to you?” Christopher exclaimed in disbelief and shock.
  • “That's not Eric.... That's the devil,” Briana said, terrified.
  • Damian lifted his head and faced them. He stood up and left his victim behind, ready to make Christopher and Briana his next targets.
  • “E..Eric stop, Eric stop, Ericcccc!” Christopher stuttered as he charged towards them in a manner that looked life-threatening. But then, BANG!....BANG!...
  • Someone shot at Damian multiple times, straight in the chest, causing him to groan in pain. However, he didn't die. In fact, the bullets came out of his body, and his wounds healed quickly. Damian turned to face the person who had shot at him with a deadly stare. It was one of the tourists, an American. Eric Damian advanced towards him, and the man opened fire again, shooting several times, but it didn't harm Damian.
  • “Ahhhhhhhhhhh!" The man screamed out as Damian grabbed hold of him and bit his neck, draining him completely before severing his head from his body.
  • Christopher and Briana used the distraction that the man provided as an opportunity to run for their lives....
  • [ Somewhere close by ]
  • The carnage was so great that something unexpected happened. The moon above turned red.
  • “The great sacrifice!” The Elder Chief exclaimed in awe.
  • “He's going to kill us all,” one of the elders said, panicking.
  • “I think I know how to stop him, but I need volunteers,” The Elder Chief said confidently.
  • Christopher and Briana wanted to help their friend, so they eagerly volunteered themselves.
  • “We want to help!" Both of them said enthusiastically, signifying their willingness.
  • “Step forward, foreigners,” the Elder Chief announced, and they did as told. Then, he began chanting and instructed others around to do the same, which they all did.
  • “Vida Sangre Luna, Vida Sangre Luna, Vida Sangre Luna. Sálvanos Luna Dios, toma estas almas e intercambiarlos con un pecho matar esta sangre Succión monstruo,” the Elder Chief recited passionately, and everyone echoed along.
  • Then, all of a sudden, Christopher and Briana started screaming in pain. They began to transform, changing into some kind of beast...
  • Eric Damian was still on a killing spree. No one was safe, not even the little kids. He killed them all. Damian had just finished drinking the blood of a child and her mother when he picked up a foul scent. Coming out from the hut, he saw two strange fearsome creatures he had never seen before. They were large, the size of a bear, but looked more like a wolf. They had long, sharp claws and teeth.
  • “Roarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!" They roared loudly, beating their chest in the process, trying to intimidate Damian. However, Damian wasn't intimidated by these unusual beasts.
  • “Roarrrrrrrrr!" Roaring back, he ran towards them....

  • Clara, a beautiful teenage girl, was on her way to her new school, Great Hill High School. She wasn't really excited about it because she had lots of friends in her former school, and she was going to miss them a lot.
