Chapter 5 There's A Hidden Plot?!

  • PRINCE KYANITE GATHERED a mass of hay from the side and stacked them in a way that he could reach the small window. He climbed up the stack of hay and gripped the window grills. He tried to force them to open up a space where he would fit, but it was too tough.
  • He climbed down and picked up the tray, setting aside the plates, utensils, and glass. He climbed back up, stuck the tray between the grills, and tried to twist it horizontally. It wasn’t surprising though that it was the tray that split in half instead of the window grills bending.
  • Prince Kyanite sighed and climbed back down. He re-gathered the hay into a pile that made a bed by the stone wall. As he pondered for other ways to escape, his eyes landed on the greasy plate. He smashed it on the ground and picked up the biggest shard. Just as he lifted a sleeve and was about to cut himself, Howin’s voice echoed in his mind.
  • “We’re vampires, Your Highness.”
  • “Fuck it,” he cursed and threw the shard of plate aside. They won’t take me out to the doctor if I do that. These damn fanged creatures would just suck me dry and throw my poor dead body to nowhere!
  • Having no other thoughts, Prince Kyanite waited for Prince Chalcedony’s visit in the cellar for who knows how long. He was bored without his smartphone and laptop. Heck, he can’t even go for a swim because of the non-existent swimming pools in this animation world!
  • Just as he was about to sleep, light footsteps rang in his ears. He took a deep breath as the metal door creaked open. His eyes lit up in excitement, seeing that the very man he was waiting for stepped into his lonely cellar.
  • “Your Highness, I’m glad you came,” he welcomed, smiling.
  • Dang, this ‘Operation: Get in the good graces of the Tenth Vampire Prince’ should work. It should work! It must fucking work!
  • Prince Chalcedony blinked his eyes, looking confused. “Excuse me, what did you say?”
  • “I said,” Prince Kyanite stood up, walked towards him, and looked straight into his grayish-blue eyes; “I’m glad you came.”
  • God, I never did this as Lazuli and I never interacted with men like this, but—damn. This is right... right?
  • “W-What are you doing?” Prince Chalcedony’s breathing ragged as he took a few steps back.
  • Prince Kyanite turned his head to the side. “I don’t enjoy calling you ‘Your Highness’; it’s too long.”
  • He walked towards the Vampire Prince once more and his palm rested on the other’s chest as he pinned him onto the wall. He tiptoed and leaned into his ear, saying, “Brother, thank you for accompanying me in this lonely cellar. My boredom had flown away now.”
  • Prince Chalcedony took a sharp breath. “Get. Away. From. Me,” he sternly spoke.
  • “Oh?” Prince Kyanite teased and then turned his back. “I thought you’d like that because you said,” he faced him, gently caressing his bandaged neck; “I still smell and taste as delicious as before.”
  • Prince Chalcedony let out a bitter laugh. “So, this is your actual game? I apologize, Your Highness, but I do not want to play. I was not even expecting that you are someone like this.”
  • “Someone like ‘what’, Brother? Someone who’s willing to sell his blood for freedom? Who even told you that this is a game?” Prince Kyanite smiled. “Howin informed me we had a very rough relationship before. Although I can’t remember... this time, I’d like to make it smooth.”
  • “Shit...” Prince Chalcedony cursed under his breath as he listened to the other’s attractive voice. He shook his head gently, shaking the voice out of his brain. “Do not make me take this very tempting opportunity, Your Highness.”
  • “Mhm,” was all that Prince Kyanite said before he removed the bandages around his neck. The strangulation marks were still there and the wounds from Prince Chalcedony’s fangs, as well.
  • The crimson liquid slowly crept out of the bite wound that re-opened when Prince Chalcedony pressed the part with his fingers. The Vampire Prince gulped as the rose garden scent of Prince Kyanite’s blood reached his nostrils. His grayish-blue eyes turned into a shade of deep red.
  • "Brother, my neck is yours."
  • Prince Chalcedony raised his arm and covered his nose using his sleeve in an attempt to stop his arising desire. However, Prince Kyanite remained standing there, his light gold eyes dancing in enjoyment as he watched him struggle.
  • “Damn you, Kyanite,” was all Prince Chalcedony growled before lunging at the Human Prince.
  • His icy hands gripped tightly around the warm arms of Prince Kyanite, his elongated sharp fangs pierced deep into his neck, and his body felt immense satisfaction with the taste of sweet honey. This human’s blood is—with no doubt—Prince Chalcedony’s favorite meal.
  • The oxytocin injected by his fangs into the Human Prince as he drank the latter’s blood erupted a moan from his thin pink lips. Prince Chalcedony pulled back as he heard the other’s sound, perfectly recalling how the same moan filled his ears as he drained him to death that day.
  • ‘Curse these hormone needles!’ he thought, pertaining to his fangs.
  • “Brother…” breathed Prince Kyanite before he lost his consciousness. Prince Chalcedony was quick to catch him before his body collided with the cold, hard ground.
  • The Vampire Prince retracted his fangs as he laid the Human Prince gently on a pile of hay. He stared at the sleeping figure, whose beauty doesn’t seem to diminish with his current paleness. The hay was pricking his delicate skin that Prince Chalcedony did not have a second thought before ordering Howin, who was standing at the entrance of the Palace Prison, to get a proper mattress for the sleeping beauty.
  • Prince Chalcedony swiped away the few strands of silver hair that covered Prince Kyanite’s face with his fingers. His gaze fell onto the wound he had just made and with a lick of his tongue, it healed in an instant, leaving not a single trace behind. His hand, then, gently caressed the strangulation marks, dried wounds, and bite scars on the human’s neck.
  • “What the hell is your game, Kyanite?” he asked before diving in with his tongue.
  • With a rolled-up mattress at hand, Howin came into the cellar at the exact moment of his Vampire Prince licking away all the marks around the Human Prince’s neck. He couldn’t help but stay silent and watch the scene unfold in front of him. Could it be possible that His Highness had a change of heart for The Prince of White Rose Palace?
  • Howin brushed off the thought and knocked gently on the open door of the cellar just as Prince Chalcedony finished his task. “Spread out the mattress,” he ordered as he lifted the fragile body of Prince Kyanite.
  • Howin followed and Prince Chalcedony laid the Human Prince on a better bed than a pile of hay. His Prince faced him and said, “Stay here and wait for him to wake. When he asks for food, bring him anything he requests.”
  • “Yes, Your Highness.” Howin bowed his head. Prince Chalcedony nodded and then left the cellar with no other word.
  • AFTER A NIGHT and a day, a gentle voice soothed Prince Kyanite’s ear. He fluttered his eyes open and met Howin's scarlet gaze. “Your Highness, how do you feel?”
  • Prince Kyanite slowly pulled himself to sit up. He was lightheaded; his body was heavy; his vision slightly dim. “What happened?” he asked, blinking his eyes until he could see the colors properly.
  • On the ground, he found his bandages neatly folded. His eyes widened and his hand flew to touch his neck. He couldn't feel the roughness from the wounds anymore, but there was something inside his mind that he couldn't shake off.
  • “D-Did His Highness attempt to murder me again?”
  • Howin shook his head no. “His Highness had cured your wounds. With all due respect, Your Highness, your neck is just as handsome as your face. You would not need to cover them with bandages anymore.”
  • “Wait... He didn’t attempt to murder me?”
  • “I am sure His Highness had no murderous intentions when he came to visit you yesterday, Your Highness.”
  • "Yesterday?!"
  • The System suddenly popped up.
