Chapter 8-Someone is following me

  • After checking if I had all that I needed for the day, I closed all the windows and doors then I headed over to the garage and drove out taking back the same route that I did yesterday. Am glad that I still remember the directions for my new school so I didn't have to bother turning my GPS on.
  • Couple minutes later
  • After driving for two minutes, I decided to turn the radio on to a music station, I skipped through the music stations repeatedly, until one particular one caught my attention. After I stopped on the particular radio station, I heard one of Rihanna's song playing, entitled:
  • "Love on the brain"
  • It's one of my favorite songs and you know that I love singing so you guys know what happened after.
  • In the middle of the song I noticed that a blue wagon car started trailing me as I reached the highway, it was as if it was waiting for me.
  • With shaky hands, I used my right foot to press down on the gas to increase my car speed a little and quickly turned off the music.
  • For the second time this morning, my heartbeat quickened and I couldn't think straight, I mean who could in a situation like this?
  • I followed my instincts and dialed my Aunt's number and put the call on speaker.
  • Luckily she picked up on the second ring.
  • "Sorry to bother you mom, but a blue wagon car is trailing..ing me and it looks like about fo...ur guys are insi..de of it," Charlie stuttered through her phone.
  • "Calm down honey, why would anyone trail you though something is not right somewhere. Here's what I want you to do, I want you to drive to the police station on Clarksville 33 street drive through, do not come off the phone I'll be there at the police station in 10 minutes, luckily I left my phone at home so I'll see you in a few," Rebecca said alarmingly.
  • "Okay, but what if they kidnap me mom, or even worse kill me," Charlie spoke up with a sob.
  • "Charlie you still have life so there is hope, don't ever say that again young lady. I want you to keep strong and press down harder on the gas if you have to but please don't crash. I can't lose you," Rebecca said in a strict voice.
  • "Mom now is not the time to be strict, I am only 3 minutes away from the police station but they are increasing their speed limit so I am going to have to cut the call and focus on driving," Charlie said before hanging up.
  • I know my aunt said I shouldn't hang up the phone, but I have to remain focused on driving because I ain't dying today and does guys can kiss my ass for all I care, nobody messes with CHARLIE, and when I say no one I mean no one.
  • I was relieved when I saw the sign POLICE STATION in capital letters.
  • I quickly drove into the parking lot and parked at an empty spot, I then checked my car window to see if the blue wagon car was still trailing me before I attempted to get out.
  • I let out a sigh of relief when I didn't see the car in sight, it was as if it vanished into thin air.
  • After taking a deep breath, I stepped out of my car and walked slowly with my keys in my hand into the familiar building.
  • When I got inside the building, it was packed with people to the point where I shifted on my own feet uncomfortably.
  • It was then that I noticed three officers seated at a desk, I’m assuming it's the front desk.
  • I walked up to the desk unsure of what to say. However, I sucked it all up and spoke up slowly as I approached the table.
  • "Good morning am Charlie Brown, I want to make a report."
  • "Good morning Miss Brown, am officer Scott I'll speak with you in just a minute to hear what your situation is, please have a seat over there at number 13," Officer Scott said with a dazzling smile.
  • "Okay thanks," Charlie stated before walking away.
  • I walked awkwardly as I searched for the number the officer told me to sit down at.
  • I sighed as I saw a brown blonde old man that looked to be in his late 40's seated beside number 13.
  • "That's funny because this is the guy in the car that was trailing me with three other guys," my day keeps getting better, Charlie sighed inwardly.
  • "What's your problem, why were you following me?" Charlie asked with disgust.
  • "You'll find out soon enough baby girl what's the rush," the unknown guy said with a smirk.
  • I turned on my feet with a confused expression on my face as I placed my hands on my hips.
  • It was then that I heard my mom calling my name but I didn't answer because I was dumbstruck.
  • A few seconds after that I heard my Aunts heels clicking on the tile. I don't have to look around to know that she was running towards me. If you have a child then you can relate..... If you don't you still can.
  • "Are you okay char, did the car hit yours, did they take cash, what did the officer/ the officers said, are you traumatized," Rebecca questioned concerned.
  • "Hold up mom you're going too fast, I'm okay they didn't catch me and the officer said he will be here in a minute, and I think that the guy right there was the one trailing me," Charlie said pointing to where she saw the man earlier.
  • I saw my mom knit her brows together before saying:
  • "I don't see anyone sweety, are you sure you're okay," my Aunt asked worriedly.
  • Before I could say anything else the officer who introduced himself as Mr. Scott came over to us.
  • "Miss Brown please come with me, is this your mom," Mr. Scott questioned.
  • "Am her Aunt," Rebecca responded quickly.
  • "Both of you please follow me this way," Mr. Scott stated.
  • The officer then led us to an office for the questioning.
  • "You may be seated ladies," Mr. Scott stated.
  • Interrogation questions
  • "Do you mind explaining what happened to you, Miss Brown?" Mr. Scott questioned.
  • "I was just on my way to school and out of nowhere I saw a blue wagon car trailing me, so I called my Aunt here and tell her of the situation that I was in, and she told me to drove here and she told me not to hang the phone up but then the person trailing me sped up so I had to cut the call.
  • And then when you told me to sit at number 13 I saw the guy who was trailing me but when my aunt came and called me and when I turned around to show her the person he was gone," Charlie said sadly.
  • "I see, can you describe him to me please," Mr. Scott questioned, ready to write down notes.
  • "He is brown, he has blonde hair, he looks like he's in his late 40's, and he looks 5 ft 8," Charlie stated back.
  • "Do you have a boyfriend, or can you think of anyone who would want to harm you?" Mr. Scott questioned.
  • "No I don't have a boyfriend, I just moved here but the only one I could think of doing something like this, is my mom after all she hates me," Charlie stated.
  • "Why do you think she hates you? I'll send an officer to start watching you from afar and whenever you're in danger you will press this button on this watch and my partner including the whole company will be notified as a result," Mr. Scott asked confused.
  • "It's a complicated situation, Charlie’s mom just blames her for things she didn't do, you sending an officer to watch Charlie from afar is the right choice to make, how much money do I owe you," Rebecca muttered as she folds her arms.
  • "Not a dine just your corporation and respect, be sure to call me if you notice anything strange and if you have any new information to give me. Just give me a call with this number on my card," Mr. Scott said sincerely.
  • After the questioning, we were told that a search would be carried out immediately and that a police officer by the name of Bryan would follow us home.
