Chapter 15

  • Fasya gazed behind the bar. The VIP room had more expensive bottles of liquor than the main club had. It pleased her. She needed something strong and smooth and waited for the bartender to approach.
  • "May I see your pass," he asked.
  • Fasya groaned. Did he not see Farrent bring her through the door? "I came with one of the men at the poker tables," she replied.
  • "I'm sorry. I cannot serve you unless the person who brought you orders for you. Those are the rules for this room."
  • Fasya noticed that many more customers now filled the tables and stools. She looked at her phone. It was ten minutes after six. The club must have opened their doors to the public. A single man had just approached the bar two seats down from her. Fasya did not think about what she was doing. The man looked safe. Perhaps he would be her ticket to a drink.
  • She walked in his direction and rested her hand on his shoulder. "I'm with this gentleman," she said.
