CHAPTER 16: ALLIES AND TRAITORS

• As the Palace halls shook on its own accords the moment Galland and that shadow spar not sparing any life nor the thought of the beast, double in number to find them exactly at where they are, some parts of SALEM remain on its solitude—solace which make it impossible for the clamours to even cause chaos. There are soft footfalls, some bickering and then nothing. The serenity stretched wide awake, which is in favour for Kelsey. She had just finish doing her chores. Worried as she had not yet seen Leandra, but that doesn’t mean she is oblivious about where she could have been be.
• She wipe the sweat, which trailed across her forehead. The sun is hot. The heat today feels like it was burning her skin and she could not stand it much longer. The intensity felt like it could set her body ablaze at any moment now. Even the shade coming from the garden, and the trees which are all sprouting ahead do not offer much help. What make it worst is that she is thirsty, her entire body wears off the breakfast she had devoured, the water which barely patch up her thirst and now she no longer felt the same urge to work and serve the beast as she felt like, she would fall dead at any minute now.
• But what can she do? She cannot even complain either way or Kelsey would earn lashes same with the young boy who is opposite to her.
