Chapter 16 The deal

• The phone rang loudly as I walked over to pick it up. "Hello?"
• A soft greeting came in. It was Catalina. I looked outside to find the night sky darkened with little illumination from the stars. The crickets crooked in the fields as the rodents ran freely. A particular rodent caught my eye as it tried crawling through my window into my room. Quickly, I locked it as my ears tune in to hear her voice which suddenly turned quieter.
