Chapter 8

  • Katherine
  • Yawning, I stretched and felt ready to start the new day. Letting my thoughts drift to last night, a slow smile etched itself on my face. I was in la la land when I heard a screech.
  • Groaning, I walked out of bed not bothering with my appearance, to go check what the ruckus was about.
  • I walked into my kitchen to find my brother and friend staring at each other with a horrified look. My brother was standing in just his boxers.
  • Giving his neck a smack, I pushed him out of my kitchen and told him to go put on some clothes.
  • "Your brother is a hottie."
  • Raising a perfectly waxed eyebrow, I questioned her a appalling attitude.
  • "Don't you have a boyfriend?" I questioned.
  • "Yes I do, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate a nice piece of ass," she retorted with a grin.
  • "My brother is off limits. Why don't you like close your vagina or something," I joked.
  • "Hey that's not fair, you get the hot brother, the hot boss, the hot ex boyfriend and the hot dad," she said as she pouted.
  • "Okay, that's gross. First off Aiden was never my boyfriend, he was just my almost husband and secondly, you don't get to call my dad 'hot'," I said putting bunny ears around the hot with my fingers "he's married and I trust you don't do married guys. Right?"
  • "Of course not, how could you think so low of me," she said dramatically.
  • In the middle of our playful banter, my brother walked out fully dressed in a hoodie and sweatpants. He kissed me on the cheek before turning to Kimberly.
  • "So, what's your name short-stuff."
  • "Kimberly," she said dryly.
  • I left both of them in the kitchen to go get dressed for work. Something tells me today's going to be eventful.
  • I walked out of my room and told Reggie I was leaving.
  • "Where's Kimberly?" I said when I walked out.
  • "She left."
  • "Can we have lunch together today," he says playing with the tips of his hair, a habit of his when he is nervous.
  • "Sure. I'll call you when it's time for my lunch break. Did you really think I'll say no, I'm still your little Chocolate," I say with a smile before I left.
  • ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
  • "Has the advertising agency sent the bill," I said looking at Leo with scrutiny.
  • "Yes ma'am, it's in the second drawer in your office," he said fidgeting under my intense gaze.
  • Giving him a full blown smile, I walked back into my office. He must think I'm bipolar.
  • I picked up my phone to call Reggie since it was ten minutes to my lunch break.
  • "Hey," he said.
  • "Hello stranger," I joked.
  • "I can't be a stranger since you are the one who called me, but i'mma let you have your fun."
  • Rolling my eyes, I said, "I get off soon for lunch, so how about you come pick me up in five."
  • "Sure." Without waiting for my reply, he hung up.
  • I got my things and got ready to leave when Leonardo entered my office.
  • "The big boss wants to see you ASAP," he said still fidgeting.
  • "Okay. But wait Leo, are you always uneasy?" I said genuinely interested.
  • He looked around my office not wanting to make eye contact with me. Deciding to let it go this time, I dropped it.
  • "You are dismissed," I said with a flick of my fingers.
  • I walked towards the elevator and got in. By the time I got to the top floor, I walked past Beatrice muttering a few words of greeting to her before walking up to his secretary.
  • "Mr Pierce wanted to see me?" I said nonchalantly.
  • "Go right in," she said with a forced smile.
  • I strutted into the large office and shut the door behind me. Caspian was sitting on his swivel chair waiting patiently for me.
  • "You wanted to see me sir?" He stood up and walked around me.
  • "Yes," he said, looking down at me.
  • "I'm attracted to you," he smiled, "I don't like you, I'm attracted to you and I want to fuck you. That skirt makes me want to bury myself in between your thighs."
  • I stood there stunned not knowing what to say or do. His choice of words were crude, too crude. I was flattered by the attention but I wasn't a slut. My boss was a nymphomaniac. Still in shock I felt something warm come in contact with my shoulder. I looked at my shoulder where Caspian was currently laying small kisses. I was in shock.
  • Finally finding my voice, I said, "This is highly unprofessional sir," I said calmly even though I was fuming inside.
  • Ignoring me, he worked his way up to my neck and sucked. Finally I pushed him away though the push wasn't enough push him as far away as I'd want, it was enough to dislodge him from my neck. Ignoring my message he moved his hands from their position on my hands and gripped my waist moving towards my butt.
  • "Didn't you hear what I said–," he said, lifting my feet of the floor.
  • "I want you," he said as he placed me on his desk.
  • "Get off!" I shouted.
  • "That's so sexy," he said while letting out a moan.
  • I looked at him weirdly before I pushed him with as much force as I could muster. I pushed him in the direction of his file cabinet and got up.
  • I walked out of his office ignoring the wetness pooling between my thighs.
  • 'For someone who went to an Ivy league college, you sure are slow,' I said to myself.
  • ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
  • I got my things from my office left the building. I got into my car and drove to Le Divino Cucina. I was to meet Reggie there. I walked into the restaurant spotting him looking at the menu. I walked toward him absentmindedly before tapping him on the shoulder.
  • "Took you long enough! I had to wait here for—," he ranted.
  • "Yeah I know, for the past five minutes. No?" I said raising an eyebrow.
  • Rolling his eyes he kissed me on the cheek and pulled out a chair for me to sit. I looked at Reggie who was looking everywhere but me and scrutinized him.
  • "Since when did you become a gentleman? What do you want to tell me," I said with a piercing gaze.
  • "I don't know how to put this," he whispered.
  • "Try me," I said.
  • "Aiden's back from Australia."
  • I was unperturbed. Aiden flew over to Australia a week after I left home, not bothering to tell me. Not like I cared. I found out from my mom.
  • He carried on, "He found out where you were which by the way, you didn't really do a good job of hiding," he whisper-shouted.
  • "I wasn't planning on going off the grid, I just wanted a fresh start. Besides Aiden can't do anything, he was pretty much forced into our 'relationship', just like me. He just made my life miserable because he felt it was my fault we were forced into it according to what he kept on telling me."
  • "That's what you get for crushing on him for years."
  • "Well thanks for blabbing about it to him."
  • Aiden and Reginald were friends. Were being the keyword. Aiden loathed me with such raw passion, it was like Leonardo da Vinci's passion for painting. I don't know why they stopped being friends, but it was long before we were engaged.
  • "Don't worry, it's probably a relief for me to finally be out of his hair. And if he tries anything funny, we can fight him off together. Right?" I said with a smile.
  • He smiled back, "Yes we can."
  • And with that we ordered our food and caught up. Our nice chat helped me forget all that happened at the office.
  • For now.
  • I could worry about dad later. Reggie later told me he had to go to Nevada to see our parents and help dad out with the company. The news made me slightly sad, but after reassuring me he would be back before I knew it, we continued chatting away happily. I called Leo to cancel all my appointments for the day we I would not be going back to work.
  • But I couldn't help but feel guilty I was the reason they had to work so hard to save the company.
