Chapter 9 Changing Profession

  • Luo Tian was expelled from the company and taken away by the police. The news of him receiving bribes quickly spread around in the industry, and everyone was discussing it.
  • He had damaged his reputation severely.
  • Even if Hua Fan bailed him out for the sake of his daughter, he wouldn't be able to earn a living in this profession anymore.
  • As for changing professions, it would be easier said than done.
  • After Luo Tian disappeared from her sight, Hua Shengan could finally relax in her office.
  • She didn't know how to love anymore. Her heart was filled with hatred. The first person that she got rid of after her reincarnation was the one she truly loved. So she couldn't deny that she felt a bit sad.
  • She was nothing but kind to him. Why did he betray her?
  • Is it because I'm not as alluring as Hua Ranran?
  • It was eight in the evening when she arrived at the Huas after leaving the company.
  • She punched in the password when she arrived at the doorstep. But upon entering, she heard Hua Ranran's cries from behind the partition in the living room.
  • She was kneeling on the ground while wailing and begging for Hua Fan to save Luo Tian. In between her sobs, she was cursing at Hua Shengan for being cruel and inhumane.
  • Hua Fan was smoking on the couch with a conflicted expression.
  • “Ran, you're my flesh and blood. Besides, I also value Luo Tian a lot. If I can save him, I will. But you have to give me some time. Didn't you go to the police station this afternoon?”
  • “Daddy, it's not that I don't wanna give you time, but now we're running out of it. Look at how merciless Hua Shengan has become! The verdict is not out yet, but it has already been executed! She's obviously messing with Luo Tian on purpose! How can we put up with this?!”
  • Hua Fan let out a sigh. “Then tell me, how did you guys get on Xiao Chengjue’s bad side?”
  • “Xiao Chengjue?” Hua Ranran asked dumbfoundedly with tears all over her face, “What does this have to do with him?”
  • “I took the evidence to bail him out and already used all the connections that I have. But nobody dared to intervene in this matter under Xiao Chengjue's order.”
  • Hua Shengan, who was hiding behind the partition, was shocked to hear this.
  • No wonder things went so smoothly for her. She had only mentioned his name without revealing their relationship, but everyone was eager to help her nonetheless.
  • Hua Shengan, why are you so stupid? She thought to herself as she smacked her forehead.
  • She wanted to give Xiao Chengjue a call. When she turned around, Aunt Rong greeted her, “Ms. Shengan, you're home.”
  • Everyone was startled and the living room went silent.
  • “Yes. I'm home,” she answered awkwardly before she changed her shoes and walked into the living room.
  • “Dad,” she greeted her father, who was sitting on the couch.
  • “You're back,” Hua Fan replied coldly.
  • “Yes. I've been busy at the company today. If there's nothing important, I'll excuse myself.”
  • She didn't wait for a reply and proceeded to her room so she could rest. However, Hua Ranran stopped her. “Hua Shengan! You're the one who cheated first! So how could you treat Luo Tian so viciously? He was nothing but kind to you!”
  • Hua Shengan rolled her eyes in the middle of the stairs. This pair of scumbags never learn their lessons, do they?  “Hua Ranran, I'll spare you this time because Dad is here. But if you continue to be a b****, I'll make sure that you'll end up like Luo Tian.”
  • As she slowly stepped down the stairs, Hua Shengan's voice was grim, and her eyes were fixed on Hua Ranran with a deadly look in them. Everyone cared more about Hua Ranran because they thought she was soft and weak since she was the youngest one in the family. But behind that angelic appearance was the most poisonous snake.
