Chapter 8 Calm

  • Luo Tian took a deep breath and forced himself to calm down.
  • He lifted his trousers before squatting down and placed the box upright on the ground. Then he picked up the scattered coffee beans and put them back before returning the box to Hua Shengan.
  • “I'm sorry, An. I was too impulsive just now, and I apologize for that. But you got the wrong idea about Ran and me. Nothing is going on between us. She's your sister, how can I have feelings for her? On the other hand, what's going on between you and Xiao Chengjue? Shouldn't you explain it to me?”
  • He was astonished that Xiao Chengjue could settle off such a serious homicide lawsuit quietly. The police didn't even dare to mess with Hua Shengan. And now the media was focusing on him and Hua Ranran!
  • While witnessing his hypocritical behavior, Hua Shengan resisted the urge to slap him.
  • She took the box from his hand and immediately threw it into the trash bin. “Don't bother picking up dirty things. They disgust me.”
  • “An.”
  • He wanted to grab her hand, but she yanked it away. “Luo Tian, you can cut the crap. If I'm not mistaken, you have been together with Hua Ranran for two years now. Aren't you ashamed of acting right in front of me?”
  • “How did you know?” He frowned as he couldn't believe his ears.
  • They had been extra careful with their relationship, and he made sure that Hua Shengan wouldn't find out.
  • All this started happening from the cruise ship. What the hell happened in that room and changed her like this? I swear she had always been obedient like a puppy towards me!
  • Luo Tian was puzzled. Their plan to seize all of her properties was ruined! Not to mention that the savings that he had worked so hard for had also been seized!
  • “How I know about it is not important,” she replied. “What's important is that I'm not a naïve person, and you should know about it. Whoever betrays me will suffer terrible consequences.”
  • She then went back to her desk. Luo Tian was caught off guard by her calmness, and he knew that she meant what she said.
  • “Do you have to go all out on destroying me?”
  • “This is only the beginning. It won't be fun if you're dead.”
  • “Hua Shengan! Do you really think that I won't dare to do anything to you just because you have Xiao Chengjue on your side now?”
  • “You're a despicable person. There's nothing that you wouldn't do.” She stood up with her hands on the table as she leaned towards him. Her aura was intimidating him. “But I'm warning you. If you dare to harm me. I will do it ten times more violently to Hua Ranran. That way, we can both struggle in this life and death situation. Do you think she can handle it?”
  • “You b****! How dare you threaten me?!” Luo Tian gritted his teeth.
  • Then he received a hard slap from Hua Shengan. “Not only did I threaten you, I hit you as well. So what are you gonna do about it?”
  • Luo Tian only cared about profit. He would do anything to be in a top position.
  • People often become brutal once they reached their tolerance limit.
  • When she slapped him again, he became really furious. As he glared at her with bloodshot eyes, he felt like bringing Hua Shengan down with him.
  • Then Hua Shengan saw the policeman right outside her office.
  • “What's wrong? Wanna kill me?” She smiled. “Don't you want your nine million anymore?”
  • “Nine million is worth it in exchange for your life!”
  • “Luo Tian, why are you so angry? Did I wrongly accuse you of accepting bribes? It seems like you have the guts to do it, but you're not brave enough to accept the consequences.”
  • “You're right! I accepted bribes! But if it weren't for you, then nobody would know about this! Hua Shengan, you have made the public think that Ran's a murderer, and now you want to ruin me too. Very well then, we can die together!”
  • He surged forward and wrapped his hands around her neck, wishing that he could strangle her to death. Hua Shengan's face was flushed, but there was a smug smile on the corners of her lips.
  • It was as if she was saying 'Idiot, you fell into the trap.'
  • Luo Tian was about to let her go when he noticed that her strange expression. But at this moment, the policeman bolted into the room and pressed him on the ground before handcuffing him.
