Chapter 6 Wedding Day

  • Days passed by so quickly.
  • It’s now Mandy and Andrew’s wedding day.
  • The wedding ceremony was held in the most prestigious hotel owned by Andrew. It was fully booked and closed to the public. So many respected individuals and families attended the event from their relatives to friends and business partners.
  • The decorations of the hotel captivated the eyes of every guest. The ceiling, aisle, and the stage full of white and pink roses alternately arranged were so breathtakingly beautiful. It was so grand that you would know that the groom and bride came from wealthy families in one glimpse.
  • Everyone also noticed how good-looking the groom is. The man in every woman’s fantasy.
  • Andrew looked so strikingly handsome and smart in his black and white tuxedo. It perfectly fits his masculine and well-built body.
  • He was very busy welcoming their guests while they were waiting for his bride to start the ceremony.
  • Several women who attended the event were disheartened that Andrew was now getting married. Some just accepted their fate while some did not lose hope. They don’t think of a wedding as a big deal since it is very easy to file a divorce nowadays.
  • In the hotel suite, Mandy and Ms. Janeth Collins were now all set. Mandy was trying to look happy as she did not want to disappoint her mother since her health was now deteriorating although her medication was ongoing.
  • “Mandy, you look so gorgeous.” Ms. Collins told Mandy.
  • “Thanks, Mom. You also look beautiful. Let’s take a picture.” Mandy took her phone and made several shots. As much as possible, she would like to capture every moment of her life with her mother.
  • “You’re the most beautiful bride I have ever seen.” Ms. Collins said cheerfully while looking at the photos.
  • “Of course. I got my looks from you. Look, Mom, you’re the most beautiful mother of the bride.” Ms. Collins still looked wonderful despite her health condition.
  • Suddenly, Ms. Collins’s face became gloomy. “I’m sorry that I was not able to give you a father.” She said as tears fell down her face. She knew how important having a father on the side of the bride on her wedding day.
  • “Mom, it was not your fault. Besides, I don’t need a father. I am content having you as my mother.” She said as she gently wiped away the tears from her mother’s face. Her mother is the most important person in her life.
  • “Alright. Promise me that you will be a good wife to Andrew. I know he is a great man. Don’t be a headache to him and stop being childish anymore.” Ms. Collins took this chance to give her advice.
  • “Mom, don’t nag at me on my wedding day.” She smiled and hugged her.
  • “I’m just giving you a piece of advice okay?” Ms. Collins said while hugging her back. She felt at ease now that Mandy would settle down with Andrew.
  • After a while, the wedding march started. The venue turned dark together with a piece of romantic music that filled the air. Mandy began walking down the aisle while the spotlight was consistently focused on her.
  • Everyone was fascinated when they saw the stunningly beautiful bride. The eyes of most of the guests were full of admiration while some were envious since she was going to marry the most perfect bachelor in the country.
  • Mandy was smiling sweetly while elegantly walking down in the direction of the groom. She looked so dazzling in her A-line strapless sweetheart neckline wedding gown embellished with over 200,000 crystals. It accentuated her thin waist and emphasized her fair smooth skin. Her round bright eyes with especially long and thick eyelashes, dainty nose, and thin pink lips were noticeably perfect in her simple glam makeup.
  • Meanwhile, Andrew was staring fondly at his lovely bride. He could not blink his eyes even for a second.
  • Mandy noticed his gaze. She whispered to Andrew when she got near him. “Don’t stare at me like you’re madly deeply in love with me.”
  • “Isn’t it just right that the groom should stare at his precious bride? Don’t tell me you're greatly affected?” Andrew said as an excuse.
  • Mandy rolled her eyes. “Not really, but you are drooling.” She teased him back as she laughed inwardly.
  • Andrew automatically touched his lips only to find out that Mandy was making fun of him.
  • Eventually, the ceremony started and ended smoothly. The bride and groom were showered with rice and petals as they walked to the aisle together.
  • During the reception, Andrew and Mandy proceed towards the table of each and every guest.
  • Andrew was introducing her to his relatives, friends, and business partners that would usually offer them a toast. Mandy was obediently following him and smiling modestly to their guests.
  • However, they have not noticed that they already drank a lot. Mandy was already intoxicated by alcohol due to the plenty of white wine she drank.
  • Andrew was busy chatting with his best friend, Michael Williams when Mandy suddenly spoke to him. “Hey, you! What are you wearing? It’s like you are attending a wedding.” Then, Mandy laughed at him.
  • “What’s the matter with you? Of course, it’s our wedding.” Andrew asked in a deep low voice and looked at Mandy’s crimson face.
  • Michael heard their conversation. He laughed and said, “I think your dearest wife was already drunk.”
  • “Our wedding? Drunk?” Mandy looked at her dress. Her eyes widened. “What is this all about? I am not going to marry anyone.” She looked greatly puzzled by what’s happening.
  • Some of the guests heard Mandy’s words. They started whispering and laughing.
  • “Stop it, Mandy.” Andrew regretted that he allowed Mandy to drink those shots.
  • “Mom? Where’s my Mom?” She looked for her mom like a lost child.
  • “Alright, I’ll bring you to your Mom. Just keep your mouth shut.” He said as he held her elbow.
  • “No, don’t touch me, pervert!” Mandy shouted as she moved away from Andrew.
  • Everyone laughed while Andrew’s face turned red in embarrassment.
  • Suddenly, Ms. Janeth Collins noticed the commotion. She approached Mandy in a hurry.
  • “Mandy, what’s wrong?” Ms. Collins asked.
  • “Mom, that man said that it’s our wedding. You know how I hated men.” Mandy started complaining to her mother.
  • “Mandy, listen to me. It’s indeed your wedding.” Ms. Collins held Mandy’s shoulders.
  • Mandy did not listen to her mother. She was pointing her index finger to her mom. “One, two, three. Mom, you’re so many.” She giggled.
  • “Mom, I’ll take her home. She’s totally plastered.” Andrew said solemnly.
  • “Alright, I’ll help you bring her to your car.” Janeth Collins agreed. “Mandy, let’s go, we will go home.” She turned to her daughter.
  • “Mom, everyone is spinning.” Her body was swaying as she walked.
  • When Andrew noticed it, he abruptly carried Mandy in his arms.
  • Mandy closed her eyes as she felt nauseous after Andrew carried her. She suddenly felt drowsy that she wanted to sleep.
  • As they were approaching the car in the parking lot, Mandy unexpectedly threw up in Andrew’s chest.
  • ‘Blaargh!’
