Chapter 167 Big Swing

  • Mr Anthony and Mr Lewis had a beautiful time in Durban. They visited many places. His Shadow hotel Manager, Simon Doyle, had recommended the Unique African Gondolas to them. So, one evening they decided to ride the magical Gondola. The experience was memorable as the Durban Point Waterfront's glittering lights slipped by as they slid below bridges and down elegant waterways. The scenery was beautiful, they took so many pictures. Durban was magical at night. It was quiet and stunning.
  • He also introduced them to an elder, Mr Jele, who was passionate about Zulu culture. He took them to a village to show them traditional beehive-shaped huts and beautiful rondavels. They were so happy to witness a colorful Zulu dance performance; the dancers were in their traditional garb. They showed off their skills with grace and humor. Mr Anthony and Mr Lewis couldn’t contain their excitement. They joined the dancers as well. After the dance, the visitors were offered traditional beer. Since they didn’t drink, they were offered cool drinks.
  • A couple of days later, they took a tour to Moses Mabhida Stadium. When Timothy saw The Big Rush Big Swing he was over the moon. The tour guide told him that it was the tallest swing in the world. However, when he was told that he should conquer three hundred and fifty-two steps, he felt defeated. He didn’t think he was fit enough to climb those steps, but he was determined to give it a try. Patrick was afraid of heights, so he was not looking forward to climbing the steps. Timothy was beaming. He looked at Patrick and said, “Patrick, let’s go up, I refuse to be defeated by mere steps.” Patrick shook his head and replied, “Timothy, I’m afraid of heights. I’m not going to accompany you.” Timothy patted his shoulder and said, “There are so many things that I’m scared of, but I told myself that if I don’t face them it will become my limits. I learned that the beautiful thing about fear is that when you run to it, it runs away. A wise man told me that everything I ever wanted is on the other side of fear. So, my dearest friend, why don’t we try to overcome your fear today?” Patrick was hesitant, but at the end he decided to take a leap of faith. Then they signed an indemnity waiver indicating that should something happen to them, The Big Rush was not to be held responsible. Then they were fitted with a full body harness. Afterwards, they were briefed about what was going to happen.
