Chapter 33

As soon as Kathryn's class was over, she immediately switched her phone on which she had put in silent mode, and instantly felt stupid for doing so. There were about three missed calls from the hospital and a text message saying Zachary had finally woken up. Kathryn's heart started to pound loud as she forced her legs to move quicker and head out of the school grounds, feeling different emotions swirling in her stomach.
Each step she took became heavier and heavier, her whole body trembled, her mind filled with none other than wanting to see Zachary quickly as she could. She was too focused to see that the older was fine that she even forgot to tell her friends about the good news. That could be done later, Kathryn thought as she remembered then. She took a deep breath in front of Zachary's room, suddenly feeling unsure whether she should open the door or not. Things like Zachary would not even want to be near her or see her made Kathryn fearful and sick to the stomach.
Before she could think further, her heart had seemed to have won as her shaking hands touched the handle and pushed the door open.
